Hey is anyone else here a Republican? I live in New York and I am starting to feel like I am the only Republican within miles. It bugs me how at my school anti-Republican views are expressed from teachers without a second thought because they assume that everyone is a Democrat/Liberal. Anyone else have this issue? Just sign in here if you are a Republican. See ya!

My sister went to high school up in Vermont and had the same experiences. The problems with teachers in high school is that at some point they're supposed to let you think for yourselves, but it seems like their taken as gospel, either because the kids are used to taking it as The Truth or because the teacher's too bull headed to realize that there are other views.
I'm not a card carrying republican by any means, just mainly conservative with a libertarian streak. I'm a conservative because of the way I was raised, and a bit of a liberal for the ladies....
I don't really like to unconditionally ally myself with a political party because I have a friend who does the exact thing except on the Democrat side. It gets annoying when she starts sounding like a Democrat Party pamphlet...it seems like sometimes people's political views change to match that of the party instead of vice versa.

im a republican. Its so hard, especially here in mass. My school is dominated by liberal teachers. They preach their political views and everyone is too dumb to educate themselves on what they really believe so the agree with everything that they say. Teachers should not be teaching politics when our tax dollars are paying their salaries. All they do is whine and complain that they dont get paid enough, my response is (and i think some people in this forum with castrate me for this but its true)" you get every bullsh!t holiday off including martin luther king day, who gets that day off ? u get mental health days an all that crap, two months off in the summer, there is no physical labor, u get unreal benefits including and a ridiculous pension". If i had my own day i would want people to work harder than they would normally and teachers dont understand this because half of them are too afriad to go into the real world and put their cajones on the line to make real money. Well anywho, republicans out there, stay strong, dont let people brainwash you into beleiving anything.....make your own decisions

I'm a loose republican, although I usually come off as a die hard because I often find myself defending George Bush against all my stupid liberal friends who dislike him only because their parents do.
NC is actually mostly republican, but in the more urban areas (where I am) there's a ton of democrats. One of the teachers at my school hijacked the morning news and turned it into a liberal headline station. Like..."The Polar Ice Caps will melt in twenty years"

So they should get little too no money because THEY ARE BRINGING UP THE NEXT GENERATION OF AMERICAN WORKERS and therefore have a great responsibility to make sure that these grow up with a proper education to make sure they become productive workers. BUT no i see your point. HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO STUPID.

I just... i don't know what to say. You know you need to learn to be a teacher, thereby involving work in college? Its a different kind of work.

Wow, man, welcome to my life... over 80% of georgia is republican. I'm a diehard democrat. I didnt get a single candidate or piece of legislation i voted for in november (except the uncontested incumbents, of course). trust me... it sucks a lot more to be a liberal in the bible belt, than a conservative in new york... these freakin "christian" republicans will stone you for arguing with em, bc they think we should have religion in government, and they think that Bush is Jesus, come back to save us all again. trust me... you say the words "i am a liberal" in teh deep south, and you're just askin to be mauled by a group of republicans for your "hippie, commie" views...

Seems to me that people are having the same issues on both sides... sooooooo.... just suck it up and deal - look at it as an opportunity to hone your debate skills and becomed better informed (both by speaking to those of different views and by researching your own beliefs).

yeah. i mean i dont really like to take sides on voiting issues, but i will be able to vote in the next election. i was more in the grey area between the tow parties, but then i also admire president bush and the way he has governed this country. he was given such difficult tasks, and insead of taking 9-11 as a loss, he went and turned it into what i think is a positive.
many people in our school are just demortacts because they all fear war and they dont want a draft.
