To Fenwick-Do you know if there will be a catholic shootout again. Last year was great. We only lost to Loyola 3-2 and VIator 4-3 in 2OT

You guys lost to viator? (Viator's JV team for this year) and almost managed to beat loyola? This sounds like good news, we beat viator 6-1, shoulda been 6-0 but our team can't seem to kill penaltys without me.

Nah...that was last year's tournament so their JV team last year. It doesnt matter much as Libertyville will probably win this tournament

Yeah... I don't see anyone toping Lville this year. I don't understand how a team that beat us 2-1 last year turned into what it is today, especially after they graduated so many seniors, I figured they would have had to have moved more players up. There were apparently quite a few juniors on JV though, so I'm wondering where V is drawing their talent from.

Hey LZ, don't be so hard on yuorself. Your team gave our JV team about its 3rd toughest game this year. But remember our JV team is almost entirely freshman and still have only lost to Lake Forest, with a couple of their varsity guys playing down. You wanna see bad, watch Vernon Hills.

The Libertyville JV team starts 8 freshman and the next 4 or 5 guys are freshman as well. Very deep bunch of freshman and have played toegther for almost 5 years now. Almost all scoring comes from the freshman. Goods things ahead for the next 4 years.

I think the game is Thursday actually. We pay Loyola Wednesday. Shuld be a good game, it's good to get challenged even if you lose than playing the weak sisters. NT is the only team that slapped us around a little (down 2 at half then it went south real quick. Split with Lake Forest and lost a close one with Loyola.

Did you guys really only beat Stevenson by 2 and then blewout Loyola? Either the teams in JV are that inconsistent or maybe some of the teams are bringing down varsity guys. For us Stevenson was the far easier game and for you it was Loyola. Very interesting.

yeah the scores are true. i would probably just think that the teams are pretty inconsistent. we played pretty poorly against stevenson but came back with the 4th quarter score being 5-0. also i (starting crease defense) was playing at about 80% after a thigh bruise and we had just beat gbs 5-4 the previous day. to be honest, we did bring down a varsity defenseman for the loyola game, but that was because i was out, and the ball wasnt really on that end of the field much anyway. but like i've said before on here, you cant really put any stock in jv scores. teams are too inconsistent and there are too many variables with bringing people down from varsity, injuries, and how many juniors they have on there in the first place. we only have 4, and only 2 of them start.

I agree with the inconsistent play. As a JV team of mostly freshman, those that play and score at least, we tire after too many games in a row. We only have 3 juniors on JV and they don't play. When we played LF the first game it looked like they brought down their varsity attack and we lost 7-3. Game 2 it was totally different and we won 8-2 and they totally lost their cool taking penalty after dumb penalty the 2nd half. We have never brought down any varsity so I didn't realize that teams do that. Except for injury, like for you, it seems pointless to bring down varsity just to win a JV game.

at the beginning of the season we had 3 seniors. one is out for good with mono and one quit. the last senior is a beginner and sucks. our entire JV team consists of 5 freshman , 20 sophs, and 2 juniors. how many seniors do u have? that makes me feel a bit better about losin to u guys.

I didn'r realize JV teams have seniors on them. I know from watching the JV games that most have juniors and sophmores dominating the line-ups, but seniors??

P.S. Tough loss to Loyola in OT tonight 5-4. LHS clanked one off the post with a couple seconds to play in regulation. LT tomorrow!

The only reason we have seniors is becasue we are a new program and do not have a varsity team yet. Alot of new programs do this. Some I can think of off the top of my head are Marian Catholic, Fenwick, Lake Zurich (last year), and Benet

we finished 1-2 with a 7-3 win over schaumburg, a loss to fremd(5-3) and a tough 5-6 OT loss to stevenson. we had the stevenson game in the bag and blew it on penalties. we still played good.

For some reason the coach put in the back up goalie who played in all of 2 games this year for the glenbard west game. Then our # 2 middie split his chin in the 1st half and was gone for the rest of the day and our #1 attack played but has a concussion from LT on Thursday. That and we played poorly. The goalie for the stevenson game was our #1 but pulled a calf muscle 1/2 way through and was less than 100%.

This weekend exposed our wekaness in that with all freshman we have trouble playing a lot of games in a row. We played Loyola Wednesday 5-4 OT loss, LT on Thursday 8-5 loss and LZ on friday 10-2 win and then 3 games on saturday. We can't handle that type of scheudle with all freshman. That and we played bad to boot.

^^ it happens. im still bitter about the ref in our game v. stevenson. we would have had that game if it wasnt for him. some jack off on the sideline decided he wanted to be the ref and yell offsides as one of our attack was still makin his way up to the midfield line, but was stil at least 4 feet from it. the ref calls it offsides. the attack he called it on had still not yet reached the midline. all we had to do was waste the last 15 seconds and wed win. so now they have a free clear and give it to their sharpshooter(#1 i believe) and he gets it in to tie. they score in the first 45 seconds of OT to win. a win over stevenson would heave been earth shattering for our program, being only in its second season. but other than that we played good
