i have researched the harrow shafts but am not sure about the durability
is the i-beam or box be strong enough to be used both for defensive middie and offense, or should i stick with the stx ti?

I love my stx ti too, so first I'd say to stick with it. I mean, the only advantage of getting a harrow over that is that they have the grippy coating, and also they don't dent, but just plain snap in two, but that takes some doing. The stx ti is probbaly stronger than a harrow and extremely hard to dent, so I'd stick with it. And also, the harrow box is the strongest harrow shaft next to the howitzer. The ibeam has that flex point which can snap I've heard, so I'm not going to speak for you, so go ahead and see what you think.

i have a howitzer and it mows over the competition with its composite exoskeleton. no seriously.... the harrow howitzer is a beast of a shaft
