I've listened to a few of their songs, they sound alright until some idiot starts screaming randomly. I don't really like all this new screamo stuff that's not even really screamo.

Hawthorne Heights is really good. Alexisonfire is too but The Silence In Black And White might be my favorite cd I have right now. I saw them in concert about two weeks ago with Punchline, Mest, and Bayside it was a really good show. They were on MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout but they lost I was pissed. Niki FM, Ohio Is For Lovers, Dissolve and Decay, and Sandpaper and Silk are all really good songs but the entire cd is good. Definatley go pick it up.

Hawthorne Heights and alexisonfire aren't screamo. Saetia, Joshua Fit for Battle, and Usurp Synapse are. :nono:
Also, "Mest" and "good show" aren't allowed to be used in the same sentence. Ever.

Yea I like Hot Water Music. A Static Lullaby is really good, their more hardcore than hawthorne heights. Funeral For A Friend is one of the best bands I've ever seen live and I go to a concert almost every week. They were playing with Atreyu and TBS which was a real good show. I'm going 2 see senses fail on the 17th there really good although I heard there not so great live. Another excellent band anyone who likes HH should check out is The Receiving End Of Sirens, there soo good. Dead Men Tell No Tales is an excellent song about there lead singer leaving the band.

04-26-2005, 07:42 PM
Their lyrics are the worst, if you can't come up with better words to a song then "so slit my wrists and black my eyes" I don't want to hear anything coming out of your mouth. They have amazing basslines though.

i use to like them till they started to remind me of a girl so i through that cd out the window with the quickness

They have horrible, cliche lyrics. The only thing they have going for them is that they're catchy.
xSURFERx
04-29-2005, 05:48 PM
yea, i like there sound, but lyrics are horrible. there are acouple of bands that play the same kind of music but much better...silverstein is really good, boys night out, underoath, ..theres other but right now only bands coming to mind are heavier bands like atreyu.

anyone heard of them.
they are pretty good.
kinda emo but the three guitars sound alright.
I like them. Although when the guy is screaming it just sounds weird. A band that is like ten times better though is rise against.
I like one Straylight Run song. Just one, that's it. It's one of the few with the girl singing, and it's got this steezin' piano. I call it the dance song. But other than that, I hate all of these genres of poo. Grrr! Oh, and I'd just thought I'd let you know that those are the most horrifically cliche and unoriginal lyrics. Ever. I mean, I just read them for about 12 songs. All about girls and relationships. And the literary devices are what I'd expect from a 12 year old. And he breathes the girl in in two songs, too. How lame.
Compared to this really cool Arcade Fire song (By the way, Laika was the first animal in space, I think, in 1957):
Neighborhood #2 (Laika):
Alexander, our older brother,
set out for a great adventure.
He tore our images out of his pictures,
he scratched our names out of all his letters.
Our mother shoulda just named you Laika!
Come on Alex, you can do it.
Come on Alex, there's nothin' to it.
If you want somethin' don't ask for nothin,
if you want nothin' don't ask for somethin'!
Our mother shoulda just named you Laika!
It's for your own good,
it's for the neighborhood!
Our older brother bit by a Vampire!
For a year we caught his tears in a cup.
And now we're gonna make him drink it.
Come on Alex don't die or dry up!
Our mother shoulda just named you Laika!
It's for your own good,
it's for the neighborhood!
When daddy comes home you always start a fight,
so the neighbors can dance in the police disco lights.
The police disco lights.
Now the neighbors can dance!
Look at 'em dance.
Really cool song, and songmeanings.net had a good discussion on its meaning. But it's about a family in trouble. But it's more subtle than "My brother ran away and did drugs" or something like that. Plus, the delivery of the song is really cool.

if you want a real true emo song go look up the song or lyrics of "gloomy sunday"
the song is so depressing its belived to have caused over 20 people too commit suicide and the lyrics have been found in over 50 suicide notes.
im also pretty sure its banned in a couple of european countries.
