You can't get any scholarship money for athletics at the d3 level...
roycegracie47
05-04-2005, 02:39 PM
but you can get them for academics and other things, but those are very hard to pull off. At Oberlin essentially the only thing you could get a scholarship for was to attend the Conservatory, which to musicians, particularly ones who shy away from sports, that's like going DI to them...not the greatest analogy but I thought about it in terms of trying to explain it to a connie (like my dad) and that's how I see them understanding it.
oh, and townie's were offered full rides to the college.
but yeah, otherwise no athletic scholarships.

This kid named Matt Elipas, Apparantly he's totally bad a**. He lived in illinois his first 4 years of high school so he diddnt get much expousre but he avaraged over 100 goals a year in a 18 game scheudle. the kid is 6,4 220 and can rip from outside the box. Plus he was about 90% in faceoffs. he is taking a PG year at salsbury, i dont know where he is going i hear he might play linebacker at florida state though.
whered he go to school?

Glading is pretty sick, some people need to lay off him. My friend, who used to chill with him and played on his sports teams, told me that he was a ridiculous basketball player and always the best player. Prep's basketball team is no joke either. So, if lacrosse is what he's best at, then it's safe to say he's got game.
I don't know which Prep guy it was, but he apparently did pretty well at 205. There's also a sophomore from McDonough that stood out too.

Yeah, Jack Dills is the leading scorer, but thats in D2 (D1b is just a euphemism to make these schools and players feel better about themselves). Put Collura or any other good D1 player on Westerville South, and he'd score much more than Dills or Nelson for that matter (who robbed a few better D1 players of AA).
And Collura isnt the best player in the nation, Possibly the best in Ohio, but not the nation. If hes the best there is, why werent schools like Hopkins, Cuse and MD be looking at him? landon's george hughely will be carrying the team on his back this year, i think, so he will face some double teams. but one-on-one, he is phenomenal. brancaccio of GP is the best shooter in the nation, a great scorer, but he will have to work hard to get open for his laser of a shot to be released because he will face double, even triple teams, and he isnt a superb athlete like glading was.
i think GP's goalie, chris casey, is realllly good. Just a suggestion, he hasnt gotten much hype but I think he was Prep's MVP in the landon-prep IAC champhionship last year.

that's not entirely wrong...since most ppl don't. however...
there's no way in hell any of these kids are getting full rides. I dont think full rides exist in lacrosse.
this is wrong. they do exist, the thing is that lacrosse is allowed (unlike basketball or football) to give partial scholarships. therefore, most players get small pieces of one scholarship...a full scholarship is a sign of a can't-miss prospect

The best senior in Georgia is Neal Hicks. He is the real deal. With the exception of one or two of his high school teammates, no one else comes close. I think he is going to Notre Dame

I have a couple tops for 06 class:
Max Quinzani - Duxbury, Ma (Attack)
Boyle - Pink. Academy (Attack)
I live in CT so I have to shoot some players out of the state.
Tommy Lee (Hand)
Pete Mcnichols (Mcmahon)
Cooper Macdonnel (Darien)
Chris Madalon, Goalie out of Darien.

um glading shoots 96 right handed... 94 left handed... does wall ball with 2 balls righty and lefty and it just flat out sick
how the hell do you do that?

12-14-2005, 05:29 PM
Why don't you try reading some of the other posts, mahanlax?
Glading is pretty sick, some people need to lay off him. My friend, who used to chill with him and played on his sports teams, told me that he was a ridiculous basketball player and always the best player. Prep's basketball team is no joke either. So, if lacrosse is what he's best at, then it's safe to say he's got game.
I don't know which Prep guy it was, but he apparently did pretty well at 205. There's also a sophomore from McDonough that stood out too.
Glading is sick, no one could stop him at prep

Like juggling. You throw one, as it is bouncing of the wall throw another, then repeat.

Watch out for Amherst, the Rich brothers, Casey & Corey, Corey got a nice Scholarship to play at UMASS, Casey now a sophmore was the 2nd high scorer behind Corey as a freshman, should be a great year.
This year the bros will dominate the NY playoffs and season.
Corey if not the best one of the best.
wow, you really belive that . . .that kid got dominated against Landon. Landon has 13 seniors going to D1 schools. We have Chris Tkac, one of the best defenseman in the nation. so we too have good seniors, very good seniors. Just look at Matt Ward, he is now up for the Tewaarton Award.
 Are u joking Glading had like 400 points, and since he came to Prep the series between Prep and landon is tied, plus prep beat landon last season

Scrott Rodgers hands down is the best senior goalie in the country. 4x all county 2x all american. ended up with 998 saves and is goin to ND on a full ride
Last year and the year before that I went to salk middle school, which is where kids from Macarthur come from. The middle school is located rite next to the high school and we sometimes practiced next to the varsity. When scotty was a junior and a senior if he wasnt in a drill would come help me and the other goalies on my team by giving us pointers on just everything about playing goalie. I also was lucky enough to watch him play just an unbelieveable site to see, made saves he had no buisness making. I still try to inncorporate his tips into my game and try to remember things he did to save the ball and use them. Best goalie that i have actaully seen in person.

Max Quinzani...a 5-7, 155-pound attackman from Duxbury High school is a four-year varsity starter, helping lead his team to the 2004 and 2005 Massachusetts State Championships. He earned all-league, all-area, area player of the year and all-America honors in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Quinzani, a captain in both lacrosse and hockey, also helped the Duxbury hockey program to the 2005 state title.

definteley this guy...he broke casey powells point record for a HS player, and the only reason he wasnt an All-American his senior year was because he used to pull this little move where everytime someone went to poke check him, he hit them in the *** with his butt end. it was deemed "unsportsmanlike" so he didnt make it.
