the top string (sry, not sure of correct term, but its the string that connects the top of the mesh to the top of the head) is fraying, duz that mean it will break soon and if it duz can i just replace it like sidewalls or will i have to restring it all together?

This should be in Stick Tech forum but all you would need to do if it breaks is restring that part, as long as the rest are okay.

The best thing to replace it with is a piece a leather used in a traditional stick. Lasts longer.

^^No way on leathers.

Use doubled, or tripled sidewall string. Home Depot's got some great ~3 to 4 mm nylon rope, $3 for 40 feet. I swear by this stuff for sidewalls, top strings, and bottom strings. If you like nylon shooters, it'd probably be a sweet compromise between nylons and hockey lace too.

Well, if its rubbing on the ground, anything will sooner or later wear down and rip..

Few Ideas:
1. Put some duct tape over the top string, however, eventually, it will rip, but its easier to replace than string.
2. Maybe try putting some glue over top of the faying strings, may work, may not, just a thought

Dude, just re-string it. If you do that, then there will be no worries with the burn holding or whatever. And the top string usually has nothing to do with the sidewalls.
