Hey guys,
I bought a STX traditional kit so I can string one of Kryptic's beautiful pitas on my Phantom. Anyway, the leathers don't have slits in them. The instructions that came with the kit just assume that the leathers are all ready to go. I have searched around the boards and Google and cannot find anything on putting slits in the leathers. They all seem to assume the leathers are pre-slitted. How long should the slits be? How far apart should the two slits be? Where exactly should they be located from the end of the leather?
Thanks!

Hey. teh perfect solution for this is to take a flat headed screw driver adn a hammer. once you foudn where u wanna put teh slit put the screw driver there adn tap teh end of teh driver with the hammer unit you have the right amount of slit that you want. :)

Here, put them in these same spots and just use a razor blade or an exacto knife if you have one!

Thanks guys I have it all figured out. I used a small woodworking chisel that is very sharp and has a blade about 1 cm wide. I just rocked it back and forth and it went through the leathers like butter. Then I made the slits a bit longer. I also decided to do the two slits and they are a little less than 1 inch apart. I have put the leathers on the head and they look pretty sweet. I have the sidewalls strung and all the nylon cut for Krytic's pita. I am using orange crosslace instead of his blue. I can't wait, it is going to be sick.

Okay I have the centre twist almost done. It was quite easy. Unfortunately I can't finish it because I don't have a ball. They are all in my bag which is at my friend's place. We have a game tonight so I probably won't finish this thing until tomorrow.
Here's some pics as requested. :)
