it makes it so that people wont get into fights and what not, and you only have to wait on the bench for like 20 seconds. they said its a game misconduct if you go on the floor (which is stupid) although ive seen people go on the floor and only get warnings more then once in one game so i dont think they will inforce it much.

Actually this rule is used in the OLA and in Alberta. BC is just finally joining the rest of the CLA. The 24ft line was used untill i believe the 80's so in actuallity we are just reverting to the original way.

That 24 foot dotted line hitting rule is their but I dont think anything has changed cause in my games everyone just smokes any one, anywhere and the refs dont seem to care. yah the bench rule is stupid.

seriously in all the years i have played box i have never seen a fight after the period was over (like what their are tring to prevent) i have seen some pushing and smack talk but you can talk smack from your bench anaways plus its a nusence haveing to wait to get called on the floor like say you goalie has a sick period and you want to go and congradulate him so you jump on the floor and go down to him and you get a stupid game misconduct

I've seen fights happen anytime. End of the period is just another time when they can happen. You won't see this rule implemented much, its more of a preventative measure.
