the STX Sniper

yo guys, i was walking by a yard sale today and i saw they were selling lacrosse equipment, i ended up buying an edge for $5 and a head iv never heard of called a sniper for $2. both unstrung.

i was just wondering what the Sniper is and if its worth keeping and using

dude, my first stick was a sniper on an aluminum shaft. I still have 2 layin around my hizzau (house). Anyway, i think they are worthless, but thats just me. If you like heads with no pinch, you'll love it. Snipers are supposedly "so bad", they don't even sell them in stores.

They were one of the first heads that STX made. They're decent if you pinch them, though I wouldn't go through the trouble. Personally, the only thing I'd use it for would be to fool around with.

Is there anyway i can buy one of those off you? The sniper was my first stick and i loved it. Then someone stole it :angry: . Would love to get my hands on another one.

they still sell complete snipers, lasers, vipers, and maybe octanes on e-lacrosse.

They were one of the first heads that STX made. They're decent if you pinch them, though I wouldn't go through the trouble. Personally, the only thing I'd use it for would be to fool around with.STX has been making plastic heads since 1973. The Sniper was released around 1996. Sheesh!

It's also rather narrow in the throat area, so if you pinch it, it's likely you'll make that area too narrow - i.e. it will grab the ball.

My dad bought a sniper when i first started playing lacrosse so we could pass together. He still uses it and when i try it out it seems to work pretty well. latley he bought a fuse because he liked the way mine through. At that time i had just realized how bad it sucked. As soon as he had been throughing with the for a month or two he decided that it sucked and he liked the sniper alot better.

I still have my sniper. It was my f/o stick in highschool and it never warped!!! I think I have it currently chilling on a random longpole just cuz I needed a place to put it.

our star defender last year had a sniper and when he poke checked the fence he could push the scoop all the way into the throat. i doubt the teams we played against even knew if he was there because there was almost no way to get a hard poke check.

had one off my friends d shaft...unstrung it, pinched it, and sold it to my friend for $15 (his brother played with one in highschool and he got it stolen from him when he brought it to college...)

The Sniper's a good stick, don't rag on it. Nice pinch, really clean release, worked awesome as a beginner head on a youth team I coached. Heads don't really matter that much anyways, unless they are completely awful, stringing a good pocket is 10x more important. Also, wanna sell me that Edge? I'm into "old technology."
