I went to the game last night, and did not understand the end at all. Sonoma State was down by 1 with about 2:30 left and the ball. They passed around forever like they were trying to kill the clock, took a shot with under 1:00, the goalies was 20 yards out of the crease and Sonoma got possession and passed the ball back to a player near the goal and . . . Sonoma State calls timeout?! I am just an official, so I am lacking on some of the finer points of strategy, but that didn't make sense to me. It may, of course, have been a case where the coach called for it before he realized what was going on and it took a while for the TO to be granted, but it didn't seem like that's what was going on.
It was pretty cold in the stands, but we only got rained on a little bit, and we got to see a rainbow ("I hate rainbows!").
There were only two flags thrown, I believe, a push with possession in the fourth and one that I didn't see signalled but which, based on where the call came from, I assume was a sub infraction or an offsides.
I was rooting for Sonoma State because those UCSB fans kept wasting perfectly good tortillas every time they scored.
