Whatever you do, don't just go to a store and start buying their cheap pads and sticks. You need to do research. My cousin went to a sporting goods store to buy stuff and ended up with the Trident Shoulder Pads. Those are the worst shoulder pads ever.

Warrior makes starter packages that are cheap and come with Tempo or Adrenaline 6.0 gloves and adrenaline shoulder pads and arm pads. It's a great value, and since ur just starting out, you shouldnt spend too much money. The stuff holds up pretty well, I played a middle school season with them and I have no complaints.

Ditto. Im a new player too, but luckily, i have a long ways before high school. 'anyway, I personally think that whatever you do, You should start off with a stx head, And a Brine Shaft. But thats just me.

ok so what ive gotten out of these are NOT to go into a sporting goods store and to do research instead...and that warrior makes good shafts(opinion) and that brine is good.(correct?)..another question...should I mix-and-match or should I go and buy a package?(if it helps i'm 5' 9" 125-130 lbs.)
thanks alot for all the input
(YET ANOTHER QUESTION!)
Do like baseball cleats and softball cleats work for lacrosse...(sorry im a really newbie!)

No baseball cleats do not work, soccer cleats however do. Mix and match and youll get a better deal. Warrior has about 5 solid stick products that aren't total ripoffs (k pro, titanium, revo, revo pro, and normal klyte)

palmetto, the Warrior stuff held you up through middle school, but what about high school? Can it take that? If not, What would be a decent package that would?

socer cleats are wayyyyyyy more flexeblie and lighter, football cleats are kind of big and heavy, and baseball cleats are illegal due to the metal on the bottom
get my pic in the emai?

soccer cleats are good i got a pair of 25 dollar cleats that lasted me 2 seasons (every game and practice everyday) at sports authority. For pads get stuff that's comfortable. I use like avalanche shoulder pads and i like em but u might not. They're cheap and imo just enough to get the job done. Elbow's it depends on how much flex u want whether u go all out elbow protectors or arm pads and gloves looks like ur workin that out. As for a stick id say go like an original edge with regular hard mesh and ur shaft wont really matter. As a beginner heavier may be better because it will allow you to develop skills with better habits and as you advance the lighter sticks will feel that much lighter if u move up to like a kpro or ignite supra/optra etc etc etc.

The warrior package is very nice. My brother used the same pads, and they held him up through a season (he plays JV, but doesn't play a lot of minutes.) Theyre light with good protection, and can be used for any position. If you want to get a starter package, go with these. Maybe get more expensive arm guards, but otherwise, the warrior starter pack is great.
