Warrior

I think that warrior has made some incredible awesome equipment in just about every category, so I would have to agree with you. Stx I think makes some of the best heads, but warrior and harrow take the cake. Harrow really is revolutionary; everything stick wise they make is just awesome. I'm not 110% impressed with their pads though.

Warrior/Brine , Harrow , Gait , STX

this is such a generalized question it is hard to respond. warrior makes amazing equipment but it looks so flashy like your buying it more for the look rather the great protection and ventilation. brine/stx/gait i would think would all be more mediocre except for a few exceptions(i.e.-insanities,g-force line, defts, etc.) and i havent heard anything of harrow but there stuff looks great

they all have great equipment if you're willing to dish out extra cash. once the bill's over $100, its all personal preference i guess, but dang, those hypnos look nice, and only $60.

Warrior makes good equipment, they just overprice. So I'll go with Brine for heads and Warrior for shafts

I think I've read a threat EXACTLY like this like 100 times. But I'd say Brine all the way!

05-16-2005, 08:38 PM
Warrior is overpriced and i cant stand all the "pimp" names. all there stuff is pretty good though.

Brine is the standard though, cheap and useable. Gotta rid of some of the gimmicks though.

STX has 2 sides, the proven tested shafts, and good strong Heads.
and the gimmick **** like fuse, duece, hype, liquid, etc.

so id go with brine, Best for your buck

As I said, I just can't stand harrow's gloves... They're not flexible enough, and the thumb on the sabres is pretty bad.

I have always used warrior stuff, tho I dont agree with their marketing. But I am starting to like brine, and those G-force pads are sweet.

Farny
05-17-2005, 06:24 PM
I personally love Brine. Their heads are excellent, the Vapor, Nitrous, Answer, Edge, E3, all of them are lovely, and the multiple stringing holes placed on a lot of their heads makes them even better. I like Brine's pads as well, my Spartan Core's are excellent, and Brine gloves are great.

Warrior is great, too. I like my Revolution. The Hypnos look nice, as someone pointed out, and are cheap. I have them. THey have good grip and break in very well. The only drawback is the poor ventilation. I've never had a problem with that before, but my hands sweat really badly when they're in there, as there's only a hole on the top to get air in, and the Vapor Tek stuff doesn't help. Warrior arm pads are good, too.

STX is not one of my personal favorites, I like the Profile, I like the Gladiators, I like the I2's, but their mesh is bad. Warrior makes the best mesh. Debeer has sweet shafts, with the Triaxes and stuff, but I'm getting a DB803.

hmmm...hard to decide...brine makes solid heads, i just got an answer, and it's workin out ok. tried out a cyber, vapor, and a nitrous..those are great too. warrior has the greatest pads ever made, the mpg elbows rule and so do the hitman 5.0s, and they make sweet handles. stx...eh, gloves are ok i guess, and i have to admit their heads look cool.

mrmccool
06-09-2005, 06:53 PM

joker45hahaha
06-09-2005, 07:34 PM
i kinda like warrior stuff. their traditional type stuff is really good like the titan classic and the kryptolite and the platinum is the best beginner stick. the hitman 5.0's are pretty good and so are the MPG 5.0 arm guards. thats it for me as far as warrior stuff the rest of the stuff is madly overpriced and you basically pay for a shiny coat or the warrior logo, kinda like nike. brine and stx are a good, steady, reliable company for with consistantly good equip with their highs and lows. gait is really innovative but doesnt really have that much selection so they have a really good product every once-in-a-while with fairly solid other gear. all in all, ill probably take stx over anyone else

p.s. how do u guys know whats comming out in 06?

EDIT: i need to shorten my posts

Each company has its strengths and weaknesses.

Warrior-Most of their heads are decent. The Krypto series of shafts is good, too. Their Titan series blows, though. The Viking is alright and their pads are all pretty much overpriced. The Hypnos are the only glove from their line that I like...they're great gloves and not overpriced. Basically, Warrior is inconsistent, overpriced and far too 'Abercrombie'. They do have some good gear, though.
Brine-Solid and reliable through and through. Good heads (accept the Edge X), they used to have great shafts (F series), but their new line (ignite) is bad. Pads are good, their gloves are great and the Triad is a great helmet. Brine doesn't really overprice their stuff...for the most part they're a great company, although I wish they would stay with their old roots instead of trying to make all these new, flashy 'innovations' that are truly gimmicks.
STX- Inconsistent to say the least. Some great gloves, though. G-forces are good top of the line gloves, and the Fusions are good work horses. Shafts seem to be really good. I don't think there's an STX shaft out there that people particularly dislike. A couple good heads, but for the most part...their heads are awful. Waiting for an STX helmet...that would be phat.
Gait- Reliable. Good shafts, good heads (the Torque is amazing). The Insanities are awesome, too. My favorite glove. I'm not too familiar with their pads, but they seem to be decent. Great company, although some of their heads are quite odd...These guys have the potential to go big.

Overall, the only company I really DON'T like is Warrior, although I'll use some of their stuff if I like it. I don't discriminate against a company's gear because of who it's made by...I try out the stuff and make my own decision...which is why I use a cascade helmet, warrior armpads, a Brine Matrix on an STX Sabre, STX gloves and brine shoulderpads.

heads- brine/gait
shafts- brine/warrior
armpads- warrior
shoulder pads- brine/warrior
gloves- stx/warrior

now, if anyone's noticed, Warrior has a weird/bad marketing strategy...the mpg, mll, and player's club series pads are all pretty much the same thing, except each "level" of equipment has maybe one or two extra pretty useless features..mll stuff is all silverish, PC has lil vent things. and then for each series they jack up the price 20 bucks or so for each corresponding peice of equipment. but anyways yeah they have good solid pads though, and pretty good heads.

does anyone have the gait field helmet? first i got a cascade..and it cracked right down the middle when i threw it against a soft couch. so i got one of the gait ones and, despite being really ugly, its actually very comfortable and offers great preotection.

id say stx and gait. stx makes the best gloves out there and gait shafts are awsome. everybody makes good sp's and heads and ap's becasue there are so many that have the exact same quailities. there are only about 8 (not including woodies) types of shafts that are made, however, and all companies make their own version of these types. it just depends on the thickness and other things that makes them good

this is silly, each manufacturer maks some things better than others, and it changes, and that doesnt event take personal preference into account.

ive always preferred STX's heads, but when i first started playing STX's didnt even make gloves. you wore brine gloves, or bacharach's gloves that looked EXACTLY like brine's. same for shoulder pads, there were 2 styles and STX, Bacharach and Brine all made them. elbow pads, same deal. and again the same deal with helmets, bacharach and brine both made the bucket and there was precious little diffference between them. later sport helmet came out with their extra-padded extra-heavy version.
today, i really like warriors shoulder pads and i think their chest protectors are an order of magnitude better than anyone elses. shafts are shafts, everybody makes some version of the good ones. gloves... personal preference, i like STX; glads/G-forces; elbow pads? i havent tried enough different ones, but with a few excecptions its like the old days, everybodys making their own version of about 3 different kinds of pads. helmets again personal preference

my opinions of the "best"

shafts: warrior has some nice krypto's, but also makes a lot of overpriced gimmick shafts, such as K-Pro Kevlar, splitshaft, etc.. I havent played with many brine shafts, but from what I have tried (Swizzle, F22, F55) they all seemed to hold up. Again, from the two deBeer shafts I've used, Liquid metal and dB803, both were very good shafts. STX makes a good Ti, Sabre, and Axe from what I've tried. Most companies have a strong line of shafts.

heads: Heads are warrior's strength in my opinion, Evo Pro, Revo Pro, Finalizer, Nemesis, and Razer are top of the line heads. They also make some good ones that won't completely drain your wallet, like the Blade, and original Evo/Revo's. I'm a big fan of STX's heads from my experience. I have a Viper, Bionic, and X2. All of these are extremely strong. But, STX heads for the most part are gimmicks, with the little plastic coating for "strength and lightness"? Deuce, Liquid, Hype, Fuse, etc.. are all terrible, and have ruined STX's heads reputation for the most part. STX's 2006 line will be interesting to see with their new line of straight heads. We'll see whether they will be successful heads, or just more gimmicks. Debeer has always made strong heads, such as the triton and wizard. They also make the torque, which can be used for any position, and for the most part everyone loves it. Their heads aren't that expensive, such as the Icon, a decently-pinched beginner head, which can be found at most sporting goods stores. I've also always liked Brine heads. Brine has two great heads for a decent price, the Answer and Cyber, which are under $50. The E3 and Matrix have been successful heads too. For the most part, I havent noticed any gimmicks head-wise from Brine, Warrior, or Debeer, but STX tried the rubber, and failed with it.

gloves: Every company has at least one or two very nice glove. Brine has many nice gloves to choose from, Vent-X's, Gels, Defts, Supercrosses. All of the Brine gloves seem good to me, but with the new Mike Powell line of gloves coming out next season, we will have to see if they join the Warrior-expensive-glove bandwagon. STX has a decent pair of gloves in the Fusions, they are low-priced, and good for a beginner lacrosse player. Gladiators and G-Forces are the top-of-the-line STX gloves. I haven't tried on Glads, but I know personally that G-Forces are probably the most comfortable glove on the market. I have heard great things about the Glads too, flexibility-wise. Debeer/Gait has two nice pairs of gloves in my opinion, the Hyperflex's and Insanities. The hyperflexes and Insanities are VERY tight fitting, and feel like the palm of your hands. Now, Warrior gloves. I'm sure everyone knows about Warrior gloves, but I will review them anyway. The Warrior gloves are extremely overpriced, and definately NOT worth the retail value. Some examples of this would be: Mac Daddy's, Mac Daddy Limited Editions, Superfreaks, Superstar II's. I have also heard from many peolpe that the palms start tearing, and they fall apart after one season. The Mac Daddies are $300 for Christ's sake. If I were to pay $300 for gloves, I would need a guarantee to score 5 goals a game.

So to summarize, any company can make a nice shaft. Warrior makes some great, but expensive heads, STX has had some gimmick heads, and Brine and Debeer are solid. Glove wise, Warrior gloves will make you go broke, Brine has a nice line of gloves, and Debeer and STX have two pairs each that are very good

As a goalie, I have to say STX all the way. The Gladiator line of padding is just incredible and the Eclipse and Goalmaster III are my two all time favorite heads. Gait has yet to do much in the goalie equiptment area, although the Sentinel looks promising. The Money is a fine head, I just don't like the extreme offset of it. Brine's goalie gloves are comfortable but somewhat lacking in protection. I haven't tried out much of Warrior goalie equiptment. In fact I've only tried the Nemesis, which seems very nice. From what I've heard, Warrior's goalie chest pads are too bulky and hard to move in although the 06' chest pad looks quite unlike the older versions and looks quite flexible and there isn't much plastic on it from the looks of it. From what I've heard about Warrior's gloves, the Superstar is very protective but somewhat hard to break in and the Superfreaks are comfortable but not very protective and not very different than the regular Superfreaks.

So in terms of Goalie Equipment I would say
1.STX
2.Brine
3.Warrior/Gait

In terms of Field Equipment. . .
1.Brine - I've always liked Brine equipment, I just hope that the new line works out

2.STX - I have never bought or tried one of their gimmicky heads, although I have played with the X2, Profile, and Proton. They also have nice gloves IMO.

3.Gait - Have some great, low-priced equipment and heads. Also very reliable.

4.Warrior - Overpriced, Shiny, but good equipment. I've never really played with any Warrior equipment besides my friends Evo Pro, which lasted him 2 weeks before warping into an illegal state. He had it died pink so Warrior wouldn't give him a refund. He ended up getting a free one from the local shop that died it pink though, great guys at that shop.

^^^^This is a very long reply w/ too much to read. Warrior krypto shafts are awesome. Revos are nice, but STX Has padding by far. Like Apollo D's are sweet along with iggies for sure.

I like Gait the most. Love the heads and the insanities. The profile is the head with the best feel I have ever used after a little pinch and the heat is a great head as well. They also have the gforce line which I think is amazing. As much as I love gait heads, I think stx has better ones, just not as many great heads as gait. MIL's ti shaft is the best deal on a great shaft these days. Brine has some decent gear but nothing that overly impresses me. I don't really have any opinion of warrior though there is a number of things from them I would like to try out. Some of that gear like gloves (basically want to see what they're charging so much for) and some of their sticks (mostly revo). Harrow is pretty much the same thing as warrior. I would love to try their shafts but don't want to spend the money. Would also love to try those box gloves with no palm.

Warrior has awesome heads for D. Harrow shafts. Cascade helms. Brine everthing else. (Especially the sexy arm pads)

Warrior would get it except for the terrible chest pads for D

Jesuit, i dont know if you realized but you rusurected a thread that has been dead for what? 9 months? Oh well, since its back....

Gait-their newer heads are very nice and innovative, the torque has been a hit
STX-They have produced some amazing heads IMO. The X2 and bionic are great.
Harrow- No clue on shafts, but i love all of their heads except for the variable. H2 is arguably one of the best defense heads around.
Brine-They have great older shafts (f-series)
Warrior- I like all of their shafts and gloves. The platinum is a superb shaft for the price.

stx - not entriely happy with teh eclipse in goal, or the gm3. they do really make great heads...p2, x2, great stuff. shaft wise, they also made some good stuff...i prefer the older model scandium and titaniums to the newer ones. i also like the gforce series stuff, protective and light, while still being mobile.

gait - great for heads, very innovative with teh torque and triton. pads are ok, could be better. sentinel was not the best goalie head ive ever tried, but was an original idea.

warrior - my all around favorite for sticks. for goal, nemesis is a superior head, krypto pro and other heads around and above it are very good. glove wise they are ok, the superflys were a disaster from what ive heard. they are probably the all around best for padding next brine...my only complaint, a bit pricey.

brine - impressive padding, innovative technology. my favorite gloves will always be the defts, great stuff. most of their stuff is like the defts - protective and flexible. sps and ags are great, sticks and shafts are great too.

harrow - turret is an incredible head, semi-great shafts, im not a huge fan anymore of the rubber grip and the composite shaft. padding is so/so, a bit pricey with everything.

cascade - incredible helmets.(period)

STX, Warrior, Brine, Gait.

STX has the best top of the line stuff. K18 and G-Force (especially the pads) blow everything out of the water. Warrior's stuff is solid though, and I've considered buying almost all of their top of the line heads. Their shafts and pads are weak in my opinion. Brine is just... meh. The Clutch looks nice, not really psyched about anything else coming out from them. Gait doesn't have enough stuff for me to consider them.

i have no one favorite company, and if i did, it would be warrior

but

shaft--i've always used a brine flip grip, magnum or ti.
head-tend to stick to warrior, but lately have used stx or gait, my new head is a torque
pads--i actually like warrior pads a lot, although stx is getting some good new stuff
helmet--cascade of course,.

so it's kidna spread throughout, i just hate brine heads, all except clutch.

stx makes the best gear and sticks imo

stx gloves-all copanies make good gloves though
brine elbows-best protection
stx shoulders-light and good protection
brine rib pads-durable under fire
gait shafts-light weight, durable
warrior heads-overpriced, but so damn sexy

id say gait there equipment is innovative (db803, insanities) and really cheap
