in the recent game informer, in an article about ea getting exclusive rights to football, the author asked the man in charge of the licening in ncaa about lacrosse and hockey, and the guy said that he excepts annoucements for those games soon.

This had better be real this time. No more video game wild goose chases. I'll stay optimistic for now, and if this is true that very exciting.

I am not holding my breath...
When I was at Clarkson University (D1 Hockey program)...they were gathering images of the rink and the ice to send it to a "nondisclosed but huge" video game maker because they were going to do a hockey game...
This was 7 years ago...
so no offense but I'll be pesamistic until I see it...

if they accualy do end up making it i think that it might not turn out the way we expected it to. because it would kind of be hard to mimic som1 throwing, no1 is perfect so they would somtimes thow a liitle off so it would be hard to copy that also, and you dont catch the all everytime (unless yur me jk) so i just think it would be hard to make a good game out of lacosse because this is a sport of finely tuned cordination
i hope that made a little sense

I agree...I love this idea...
probably use some ombination of physics models from their soccer and their hockey games...
I didn't want to squash the idea...i was just giving an example of what happened with a hockey game

is it just me. . . or does a lacrosse video game sound pretty dumb?
I mean yes I love the sport, and would love to see it get publicised. . . but a video game just doesn't seem it would do the sport justice.

i think it would be a great idea to make a game. I would defianitly buy it!

it would be so awesome if somehow they put mikey powell in there. And in the game you should always catch the ball, dropping sometimes would make it weird.

playing defense would be kinda sketchy i think. i could see a control scheme for O but not D.

I don't think it would be possible to make a game that does justice to the sport. There is only so many buttons and combos to do. But in lacrosse there are so many variations to everything. Hell moves are made up just by going to a wall and messing around. Its so unique like that that I doubt anything could be made that would justify it. The idea sounds very cool though.

yeah i think would do very go things for the game because i know for a fact scense the madden NFL games have come out in Australia the number of kids that have started to play football has more than trippled. So i think it could raise awarnes about the sport. I'm still sticking to my idea than the game should be an all in one game with NCAA/MLL/NLL and international aswell as perhaps the option to play as teams from a few international leagues. But i will remain optimistic especialy after all the speculation about lax video game ofer the past couple of months

Of course nobody's perfect, this is a video game.
When you play hockey and you pass it to your teamatte does he catch it every time and a little star shows up underneath his shoes?
When you play football do you pass it and the reciever lines up under a circle that tells him where the ball is going to be?
It's a video game, they can't make it so realistic that you have to drink a jug of gatorade at halftime.

Well a company already has rights over the NLL and i seriously doubt that would happen. Not saying having all of them in one game wouldnt be cool...its just not likely at all

That would be insane to produce...first thing getting all the licensing and red tape out of the way...then doing enough coding for 3 different types of games all in one...it would not be worth it...
they don't even do that with football...NCAA is seperate from NFL...
I love the NCAA Football game...building a dynasty...recruiting players...
plus imagine unlocking secrets...all of a sudden after winning a 3 peat as champs on hard you unlock Gary/Paul Gait...etc...

Have you played the new March Madness. One of the analog sticks comtrols the type of defense you are running and you just control one person at a time, sounds easy to me.

Could you imagine playing NCAA Lacrosse '06?!?!?!? That'd be friggin sick! If EA did it, could you imagine how nice it could be? And face it, NOTHING could be worse than Blast Lacrosse...

yeah i think it would be possible but it would take a lot of time and effort and money which a gaming company wouldn't be willing to invest in a lacrosse game. Howerver i do think they could put the MLL and NCAA in one game together i don't think the pysics of the 2 games are that different from each other it would be just like the NHL games were they have the euro leagues and international compared to NHL so the rules refs and rink size are different depending on which league you are playing in. So i think an MLL/NCAA game would be an option but i still think it's a fair way off and we will have to wait and see what happens with the actvision NLL game.

:hot: The Game should have Xbox live support. But the controls will be a little bit tricky. For Xbox the (black) and (White) buttons will be used to switch hands. And the (shoulder buttons) to doge left and right. The (A) to pass, (X) to shoot, (B) to sprint, and (Y) to change the offensive plays form a 2/3/1 too a 1/3/2 and so on. It will also me cool to have ability to customize your plays. If they really do decide to make a new Lax game. I pray to God that they don’t screw it up.

OOOH I can see the face-offs! It's conna be like A to clamp the ball, X to jump it, B to punch, etc. It's gonna be such a sweet game, I'm definatly buying any lax games that come out next year.

no offense but they, if they make a game, will not make the controls so complicated. They will probably be identicall to a basketball games controls.

For defense they could do something like...have your defensive player centered on his man, like in wrestling games, so that whichever way he moves, he'll position himself so he's facing the guy. Then, they could have B be sprint, X poke check, Y lift check, A slap check, and then they could have you hold the left trigger and hit X wrap check, Y Kayak, A over the head. You could clip in the joystick or something to stop centering one your man so you can run and slide, and you can body check using right trigger and moving in the direction you want to body check.
It would schweet.
Face-offs would be awesome, as well.
I'd be interested to see how they worked out groundballs, too. Like, how you would scoop them...would you just run through the ball or would you have to hold a button? How do you do 'man, ball' situations?
Running dodges would be interesting, too...how would you go one-hand cradling? How would do a behind the back?
There's a lot of things they'd have to incorporate to make it decent. I hope to God that they make a good NCAA game, though. Pro lacrosse isn't big enough yet, NCAA is where the real action is at. Of course...whether the game is good or not, I know I'll get it, just because it's lacrosse.

Why would they waste their time and money making it 3 games in one...the NLL has Blast Lacrosse (although it was bad, I found it insanely fun to play with a friend...if you turn the announcer off)...MLL is big enough yet, a game with 6 teams would get old fast and it isn't that popular yet.
NCAA is the most popular, especially to kids, so they should make it...it would be easy to make...make face-off's like NHL where you gotta be the first one to press a button, certain buttons do different face off moves, dodges culd be done with right analog, like NBA Live, shots like NHL, passes like NBA LIve, defense like NBA Live where you can choose between D formations (zone, man, double), and tey could incorporate something else for jump shots, stick checks, etc...
could be done easily imho

This could be the offensive layout for the 360:
A-Pass
X-Shoot
B-Fake
Y-Dodge
RB-Modifier
LB-Modifier
RT-Sprint
LT-Switch Cradle(One Hand, Two Hand)
LS-Move-Click to Switch Hands
RS-Modifier
Back-Pick Up Ground Ball
The Modifiers could exploit the creativity and variety of lacrosse. including the four directions of the Right Stick, plus Clicking the Right Stick, the two Bumpers, and the lone action button(A, X, B, Y), you would have 8 different shots, fakes, passes and dodges. The RT is popular in many games for sprinting as it is easy to use while directing the player. You can easily 'Click the Stick' While moving or dodging to switch hands. The Back Button, while not necessarily the most useful or easy-to-reach button on the 360, could be used to pick up Ground Balls, and could also make use of the modifiers. I believe this style, combined with a unique game engine, could create an MLL, yes, MLL version, that would show prospective fans the up-tempo action and creativity of professional lacrosse.
