In another thread, the idea for a dye contest came up. We can make a deadline, set a few rules (not too many) and then discuss entries. A poll could decide the winner. So, I'm just throwin this out there, you can take it or you can send right on back, lets do it. Ideas for rules, times, pictures, and anything else that might be relevant can be posted here, and we'll decide specifics when people start giving opinions.

So, what do yall think?

I think this thread should be in the Forum Guidelines, News and Suggestion Box Forum...

laxnation has had a few dye contests. if one was to happen, it would probably be through them (last time a bunch of members won the contest)

yeah i know that. e-lacrosse has one every year. why not one here? i dont want a long process like those are, just a community of dyers that wanna post and collaborate. and as for the thread placement, it could fit under either. when people start actually talking about the contest, it'll better fit under stick tech. plus, i dont wanna be under forum guidelines, i wanna be under stick tech. thats what i do

Well MrMccool first i would like to welcome you, ive seen some of your work and i like it alot...i've seen you getting a lot of rough treatment from this site, and im sorry, not everyone is like that...

I think its a great idea..though first i think you just message livin4lax09 just so you guys can maybe get together and run this thing....(hes the respected dyer on this site, and puts dyes up on laxnation frequently so people are partial to him) no offense to you, but everyone on this site is partial to him

About the contest..im for it, and if we can get enough people to do it then im definately down..i ran out of undyed heads, and since my proton just broke and i died that, ide be glad to enter that in the contest...

oh im for taking pictures of the dyed head, because the whole sending your head in thing...im not for, so as long as we can take a picture of our dyed heads ill do it...though my proton was my first dye job, and im still trying to get hot glue off...

How do you get all the hot glue off after its been on throughout the whole dye?

you know what, me and u are in the same boat, friend. i have no white heads, i asked all my friends if they'd wish to donate a white head and be willing to let me dye it. i think i got one taker. but anyway, i've already talked to him and he said he's too busy with high school to do it within the next month, so maybe we could have enough people that would wanna play besides him, even though it will be a loss. thanks for the support dude. we'll get this contest goin

this is more of a suggestions forum thread, but whatever.

the problem with having it over a forum is that everyone is so opinionated that it's gunna be hard finding a winner. When it's been done through laxnation it didn't take long, there were prizes, and everyone was happy. Laxnation's done it a lot, and nearly all of its writers are forum members here.

If done through forums nobody's gunna be happy. I remmber someone who was a finalist in the last contest posted their head in a thread here, and though many liked it, a person or two said it sucked. And the head clearly was a winner.

And if you want a place to collaborate and discuss for dyers, there is the "Post all custom string jobs" thread (formerly a sticky). A lot of dyes and cool string jobs are listed there.

Yeah, I think this would be a great idea, but likeLax101 said, you get a lot of differential opinions here and you could get some douch who puts down everone else dyes just because he can't even compete with them. Other than those few minor setbacks, It is a great idea. I just have one question, would it be to win prizes or just respect?
