my proton that i bought from my coach just broke...the sidewall broke in 1 spot..right like in the middle of the stick, its still strong, but i have a crazy idea on how im gonna fix it...i cut out a piece of sheet metal, and im gonna make like a box for the crack about 1 inch long, 1/2 inch on top of the crack, 1/2 inch on bottom and im gonna box in the sidewall so that it wont move anymore....
would this be legal?? i was thinking it would be boxed in on both sides and its not gonna be like pertruding so i can stab someone or something like that...I was thinking if i had to i would put those finger things on the inside of the stick as well...
What do you guys think?

Hmmm. It probably depends on the ref. I know that you're not allowed to play with a broken stick, but as long as there are no sharp edges, I'd go for it. Oh, and put tape around the metal, just to make it less obvious.

just make a splint, cut a strip of metal, they sell em in Home depot and tape it on each side, works real good

I have consulted the Fed. and NCAA rules books. From what I have read, metal would not be allowed if the question were subjected to a rules committee, and here is why. Both rules books have the exact same wording, but I took this from the 2005 NCAA rules book.
Crosse—Construction
SECTION 18. The crosse shall be made of wood, laminated wood or synthetic
material, with the head approximately perpendicular to the handle.
While metal handles are specifically allowed, I could not find anything in either book that would be tantamount to allowing adding metal to fix the head of a stick.

i'm pretty sure that metal can not be used for a head otherwise you'd get some sort of titanium lax head(which would be insane). But i think you'd get called old geezer pulled out te rule

but nothing says its illegal either. I have done it before, jut make sure you tape it completly so it doesnt show. Realy only works on Sidewalls, not the scoop.

In my opinion, playing with a broken crosse continues to be playing with no crosse at all-illegal procedure. Or if the metal injures someone, and your stick gets checked because of a big gash in someones leg...3 min NR USC if I'm working the game.
I've played with a broken stick before to finish a game but...why not spend that time and energy in fixing the surrent stick into breaking in a new one and save everyone the hassle (and possible injury).

Fixing it with metal is not legal according to the rules as written. Time for a new crosse head.
