Hey, in the off season, when I'm not doing wall ball or shooting or stuff like that, I do distance running (like 3 or 4 miles) and also sprints (along with weightlifting).

For the sprinting and distance running, should I be doing this with my gear on? It could give me a better workout, and that's the only scenario I'll be running in anyways (cos I don't do track or anything)...

Maybe wear your helmet and carry your stick, but I wouldn't worry about pads.

Yeah, i would definitely have my gloves on anytime i have my stick in my hands. Unless you are just doing stick tricks around the house or something. If you are actually working then for sure you should always have at least gloves.

In my opinion its good to do that but there are some problems with that preferably where I live but you may encounter these problems as well.

For one the gear plus the running will keep heat in you and youll get hotter and hotter. Unless your environment isnt too hot you can keep going but on hot days its best to just go at least with gloves or even arm pads. The shoulder pads do offer protection but for running it will contain heat more. As for the helmet it will do just the same.

Another problem with it is that society might not like you going around running in your gear. When I go to the park with my pads on I look around to see like 3 cop cars parked where I am just waiting for me to leave. Another thing with the society part is that unless you are fully willing to do it some people might find wearing it embarassing cause youre not on a team.

If anything Id say go right ahead if you dont mind these two things.

well i was talking about my sprints and running and cardio work, not necesarilly stick skills

So about keeping the heat and me getting hotter, that would be good, I'd sweat mroe. help me lose some fat too hehehe . i live in virginia, which i consider the california of the east coast (so yah its REALLY hot sometimes, but it's raining alot now)

i'll be doing my sprinting in a forest nearby (where there is a path) :)

well if your going to be running out in the hot summer with all your pads on make sure you eat atleast 2 strips of bacon like 30 minutes before. im not kidding. it will supply you with all the salt you could need so you wont get a heatstroke or pass out from heat or w/e.

pritom it would be good to run off the path so u could praqctice dodges and agility
just dont get lost

That too. Thats perfect for taking hits too incase if things are just unavoidable when you dodge. Not only dont get lost but try not to get seriously hurt doing it like running into something. Thats a good place to train in the woods that way the foliage wont have the sun beaming on you. So Id say go with full pads if your that determined.

Besides make you sweat more, what is wearing all your gear going to do to improve your training?

I sense some sarcasm here.

I only thought that wearing my pads while cross-training would like, get me to do more work and like...lose fat more...I don't need to but it can help...it just seems like I'lll get more "work" to do or strain or w/e. and i'll get more used to it. but i guess I don't have to.

with running in the woods, it would only be for speed so im not sure i'd go off the path. also it's actually in a park.

Well, if you’re only looking to sweat more and over heat some to work a little harder then you should do what I always had to do during wrestling season, run with a bunch of hooded sweatshirts on. That way you can put on as many layers as you need/want, they’re heavy, and you can take a few off as you begin to overheat too much. You’ll sweat a lot and it is a good way to lose weight (water weight) for a short period. It will also save you from the previously mentioned public embarrassment factor from wearing your pads, and you may even be more mobile in the sweats then the pads. I wouldn’t suggest it as an everyday routine, but it seems to fit what you are looking for.

Yeah, I like to get heatstroke too.

There's so much crazy **** that goes on when your trying to make weight. Gotta love three hoodies and two pairs of sweats. An then if you feel like doing illegal stuff how about a rubber suit. Wrestling sucks. Why do i still do it? Oh yeah, keep in shape for lacrosse.

I always run with my gloves and a stick. Makes gloves feel natural.

Gloves, and sometimes helmets.
