I've been shooting everyday for the last 3 weeks and have seen no improvement basically, I can get my shots only so fast, but they just seem to be floating. Especially compared to the all-state middie I practice with, his shots are around 80-90 mph. I was wondering if there's more to my techinuqe that I don't know about or that I just can't do it. My shoulders aren't weak either (military press 180), and my back and trapz are anything but weak, so I think in my technique.

instead of using just your arms to shoot.. try rotating your hips and shoulders on the wind up and during the follow through.

also get your arms away from your body.

Hips are more important than your arms. Try running about half speed, plant your back foot and push off while rotating your hips and pushing forward through your shot... thats how i shoot and I can shoot 80 side armed and submarine

i was having the same problem and a friend told me how bad my form was and that holding your arms up and away and roatating the hips was how to do it and magically my speed went up

you might not see a gain in speed but its peobly there and you should also practice accuracy im not saying you have bad acuracy but a well placed 70mph shot can always beat a 80 mph shot that went over then net

Try asking that all-state middie for help too, he'd probably have some useful tips for you if he's got a 90 m.p.h. shot.

when you are shooting righty pull your left leg up and thrust it down along with all of the upper body technique, it kinda pulls your body through the whole process faster, vice versa with your lefty shot.

peace out
