Who knows my friend said that is what he did and considering it was pouring most of the day before I went to work so I didnt get to run outside today I was just wondering if that would do anything. Plus, I have a punching bag that I workout with normally

The real question is how you define a "good workout". If you are looking for an exhaustive workout involving a punching bag, running in place, and bench dips, then yes it is perfect. But as far as:

Building muscle? No, in fact you might lose some muscle mass.
Building Endurance? Maybe, but not as well as running a mile.
Making you punch better? No.
Making you a better fighter? No.
Wear you out? Yes.

What is this garbage about 'punching as hard and as fast as I can'? Do you hear cross country runners say they are going to run as fast as they can and as paced as they can? No. One or the other.

I'm going to make this very simple for you. You won't get nearly as much improvement as you would doing seperate workouts for jogging, sprinting, muscle-building, and punching.

Don't forget parallel or deep squats! Sprints will help you become faster throuhg form and technique, but squats will help you get faster through sheer strength.
