I asked my coach about the hockey laces and he said they are legal..But they cannot be too tight and there must be 2 on the top and thats it...
So I wont be playing with an illegal stick this season!!

Unless the league you play in has differing rules, the hockey laces in your pocket are not legal by US Lacrosse Women's Rules. Rule I-A-1-c: The pocket of the stick shall be strung traditionally - i.e., four or five thongs (leather or synthetic material) with 8-12 stitches crosslacing (NO mesh), and no more than 2 "shooting/throw" strings.

No, it doesn't mention flat laces specifically in the rule, but in the Rulebook is Approved Ruling (AR 1-2): During the pre-game stick check, it is discovered that a field player is using flat shoelaces as her shooting/throw strings. RULING ILLEGAL. The player may not use this crosse until the shoelaces have been removed...

I think the rule is retarded, but it is in there. I don't know how flat laces can be considered an unfair advantage. I heard an anecdote about Stephi Samaras. that she was responsible for having that AR added. She used to have hockey lace throwstrings when she played at Princeton in the early 90s.

They might not call it, but why risk it? Why risk having a goal you score disallowed? Do the hockey laces provide something you can't get from regular round laces? In a boy's pocket, this is relevant. I've strung *a lot* of boys and girls pockets, and I don't find an advantage to flat lace throwstrings for girls.

i put them on b/c i couldnt fit nylons into the sidewall holes, it was too thick, the hockey laces fit- thats why i used them

to get the nylons to fit, cut them. There should be a woven nylon "sock" and then some strings going the length of the shooter on the inside of the weave. Pull back the weave, cut off the interior string and then pull the weave back over it. Fuse the weave with a lighter, and then it should fit through the hole in the stick. I had the same problem with a shockwave I strung. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm kind of surprised about all those rules you guys have, although I don't have a clue about the girls game, so my problem is more ignorance than anything else...

I tried everything to get my nylons through- LU told me that its a waste of time trying- so if I get called, so what, i have another stick
