This is the place where I work: http://www.scc.vt.edu/

We call alumni and garner their support in the form of scholarships and donations etc. etc. I don't call anymore since I've gotten promoted there twice so now I'm mostly supervising and conducting interviews. Being the overachiever that I am, I decided to also take on the role as the webmaster for their website, because currently... its in shambles.

It really is a fun place to work but you wouldn't be able to tell from the looks of the website. The people in the grainy pictures are long gone and are of a thing of the past, a lot of links are broken and the web layout is just bad in general.

I know very little about html code and have never really designed a website from scratch before, I'm pretty sure I will be able to handle this task though.

So if you guys have ever developed anything similar before I need to know a few things:

1. Is Dreamweaver the best software to use?
2. What does the "slice" tool in Photoshop do?
3. Are there tutorials anywhere on the web that could help me out.

The banner I created for the site is as follows:

Um, can I see the website. Just for kicks and giggles.

It looks pretty good. A good backround would be nice.

Nah, I think the staff took a bowling trip a whiles back and thats where those pictures are from. Back in '99 I think, really old.

The staff doesn't do bowling trips anymore, but we do hang out together... drinks and what not.
