I saw in college how when they turned it over (such as flipped over from a horizantal cradle), and it didnt fall out. I am just messing around with some traditional and I want to know what I would have to do to make it so the ball doesnt fall out.

checking the stick,

i saw it too, a middie i believe from maryland scored a goal against georgetown and georgetowns coach had it checked and it was illegal and the goal was taken off the board,

but yea the ball must roll out when the stick is 45 degrees to the ground with the face of the stick facing down

btw this should be in rules forum

No it shouldnt, I am not asking if it is illegal, I know it is. I am just messing around with an old stick with traditional and I want to know how to make it so it wont come out like that. Yes you were right, the game with Maryland. Anyone know how to make the traditional so it doesnt come out like that?

You can double string them using mesh or when doing the trad. string the side walls on the inside

actually the ref holds it up at 45 degree angle, hits the shaft a little bit, and if it doesnt come out then its illegal, or they just tilt it over more then 45 degrees
