Leather String

As you may know im selling leathers from this thread http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=20430 But seeing as how I cant find any suppliers for string im replacing nylon with leather. Its gonna be sick. But im experimenting and trying to get it waterproof and outdoor friendly. Im trying to see what you guys think. later ill do a poll with leather mesh.Im planning on leather mesh so can you tell me what the dimensions are for mesh thts fully stretched, but thats gonna be later.

I want leather mesh. Who knows what that would be like, but i'm down to try it out. You sound like a leather maniac, bart. How are you makin all this stuff, where are you shipping from, and what would you suggest I try out first? I've tried the pouch pocket, so i dont think i wanna mess with that. I met the guy that invented it, but i just dont think it works that well. but a broken in leather mesh?? sounds like fun

i think that it might stretch a little too much. but id like to hear how other people made out with it.

mrmcool: I personally think that the guys at stylin strings had a good idea but carried their plan out the wrong way with the pouch pocket. I think they should have used the rougher side of the leather instead of the smooth side. Im gonna string a bunch of pockets like the Big Word, Pouch Pocket, ect in all leather and see how they come out.

Laxdevil666: Leather does stretch but it wont stretch that much but ill tell you how they come out on my pockets that I will string.

It'll be a headache to maintain an all leather pocket, but if you're a stick-doctor, you'll be able to do it. The old-timers used to do it.

For a real vintage feel, you need cat-gut shooting strings!

(I've got two Indian sticks over my fireplace with all-leather traditional pockets. Both have cat-gut sidewalls and shooters).

you could get natural gut tennis string for the cat gut, i think that is the closest that you will find.

It really isnt if you know the proper materials and can waterproof leather. Its almost the same as nylon.

I dont think the pouch was a stylin' strings creation actually... I mean, i really dont know for sure, but the guy that I met was a coach at the Salisbury summer camp, so SS might have just bought the idea from him, cuz i'm pretty sure he had it patented. But i wanna try a solid piece of leather, like flat, but stretched in the right spots
