While I have been very fortunate to have learned a great deal from the lacrosse forums, at this time I have other matters that take precedence over the rules of lacrosse.

So, for a few months, I won’t be posting. There are plenty of people who know MUCH more than I do, and my input often duplicates theirs. My continued thoughts and time spent here unfortunately detract from other priorities.

This site has provided a wonderful place to exchange ideas with some very intelligent and passionate individuals.

I'll leave the quizzes and answers for the time being to my mentors LaxRef, Snake~eyes, eme, ploaref, and so many others much more competent than I am. It was just last year that I made my very first of over 1,400 posts with great trepidation as NewbieCoachRob!

Take care, and have a GREAT summer to all of my lacrosse friends. Maybe I’ll see you on the field.

Or when the crossroads meet again. Whatever comes first. Although I don't often post in the rules forums, everyone of CoachRob's posts I have read have brought me to respect him even more.

I also hope all is well.

Good luck in your personal life and we'll be waiting!

I have to give much gratitude to you, CoachRob, because you have fixed many of my errors when it came to rules/rule enforcement in lacrosse. Thanks for every contribution you've made here at TLF!

Honeslty, I don't think that is true. There are not many people who know the rules more than you. LaxRef will confirm this, as I'm always right...j/k

Anyways we will miss you and certainly those reverse quizzes(I was so good at those), see you around and be sure to stop in once in a while.

I'm really bummed! I've been on this site for two days, excited as heck to finally find a forum that covers MY part of the game, and one of the people I came to look forward to in that short time is leaving. I'm very sorry to see you go, CoachRob!

Will be glad when you return. It's always nice to see a reverse quiz to rack my brain while I'm at work. I hope you brew up some good ones while you're away.

Ditto LF25. For a newbie like me, CR can always be counted on for sage advice with a little different twist. I hope the other path is successful and we regain your wisdom quickly. ALOHA CoachRob.

well, CoachRob did this once before and the "retirement" lasted all of about a week. Lets face it, CoachRob is a lax rules junky of the first order, and while he may not be torturing us with his pesky quizzes for awhile, i'll bet he logs in here pretty often to check in on "his boys" and throws out a howdy or two. Have a nice "off-season", doc...see you in summer league (YES! the HBG summer league has LONG accepted players with little or no experience...what better way to REALLY get into the game!?!)

And if he doesn't, we know he'll go through every post that he missed when he finally does get back, and reply to most of them!

Coach Rob get a real job or something? Frankly, Lax is a seasonal thing, like christmas ornaments and pumpkins, and he's welcome to re-align his priorities in the offseason, as far as I'm concerned.

I suspect that he'll lurk now and then, as disslaxic pointed out he is a bit of a Lax junkie, but we must admit that a life beyond our game is an imperative until the lax ladder has wider rungs, and a lot more of them.

Godspeed, Rob. I'll be here next season to vex you.

Thanks for all the insite you've provided CR! Hope we get more coaches like you in Vt. and can't wait to see your next post.

Saw some of his many posts in past threads, which were pretty darned good. Seems more like a ref than a coach, or at least a coach who actually has read the rules and even owns a rulebook (ohmygosh!). I guess you can do both I suppose, although around here, people don't usually have time. Maybe he decided to give up lax? It takes a lot of time to study rules and coaching stuff, so maybe he just coaches now. Saw some good argumens between him and others here like LaxRef and snakeeyes and wheelielax25. Quite a hoot some of them. Most of his quizes (I liked the reverse ones) were way too tough for me though. But what do I know; that's why i'm here; to learn more rules. I saw some of coachrobs coaches challenges (seems like he won most of htem), and it would make me VERY nervous having a coach on the sideline who knows the rules better than I do (nervous laughter in my head).
