yeah i think all you guys and girls should go to http://www.politicalcompass.org/ and take this test it puts you on a scale of were your econmic and social leanings are.
So according to this site im a left wing social libraterian and have around the same political values as Nelson Mandela and Dalai Lama.
i'd just like to see were some of those people who i've had political debate with in the past would come up on this scale.]
oh yeah my score was
Economic Left/Right: -5.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.03

I'm pretty sure we already did this, but a good topic to bring back up. I'm too lazy to get the image, I was pretty close to the middle, -3, -2.

Right next to Bush, and proud!
After clicking on US Election 04, I see Kerry isnt too far from Bush.
That has to be wrong. They complete opposites.

You're surprised?
Kerry voted along Republican lines for almost every bill he saw as a Senator.
That's part of why Bush won 2004 - in a time of war, you stick with your current leader. Also, Kerry's history didn't show that he'd do anything all that differently.

I know that. Just I figured that since at every speech he sounded so liberal they'd be complete mirrors.

IMHO He was just trying to get all the hardcore libs to vote for him by sounding like that, then all the swing votes to vote for him by telling them that Bush kills Americans. :bull:

Slightly to the left, midway down the libertarian side.
I would have scored dead centre on economic issues, but I had to pick agree or disagree on everything......not all of the questions were so black/white that you could easily do that. I had enough "disagrees" where I was actually neutral, or would evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
For example - something about museums and theatres not deserving gov't funding if they can't support themselves commercially. I had to either agree or disagree, when my opinion is that some do deserve public funding and some clearly don't.
Therefore, I think the survey needed a fifth "neutral" / "sometimes" response on several questions.

I did this test before, here's what I got:
Economic Left/Right: -4.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.72
sthlaxman40
06-03-2005, 11:03 PM
Economic Left/Right: -1.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.49
It was like 2 left and 1 down. I think I have a whole lotta conflicting beliefs. Basically I hate the whole idea of socialism and communism, because it deprives people of their ability to succeed and become great.

communism and socialism don't take away peoples chance of becoming great ans succeeding it just takes away there chance of making lots of money.

Yes it does take away peoples incentive to try and be great in financial terms but there are other ways of being great.
