O.k i play box lacrosse in saskatchewan canada and i am also a ref in moose jaw sask and one of the things they told us this year is that every het from behind is a dubble minor. i played in regina last night and a guy on our team is like just under 5 feet tall and he got hin on the back every shift and the ladie ref jut said good hit, every one that was hitting him were the biggest guys on the other team.
isent that a dubble minor??

Almost everyone here does either NCAA or NFHS field lacrosse. You might have better luck posting this in the box lacrosse forum:

Depends. The rules state that if a player turns his back while their opponent
is in the process of checking, then it is not an infraction. So you can't "back
into" a defender, tunr your back to a defenderm or if he hits you while you
are rolling, it's legal. It becomes a judgement call on the part of the ref as to
what constitutes "in the process of checking". Certainly if someone is being
chased down from behind and gets hit, or is standing still and gets hit from
a defender approaching from behind, there's no question, but if the defender
is only a step or two away then it becomes more difficult to call.
BTW - it is double, not "dubble".

GAH! 'n Begorrah!! WHOd'a thunk there were Scotish Lax Refs in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.?? What with all the "dubble"s and "laddie"s and such!?! i'm seein Caretaker Willie, here! But the thought of box lax in Moose Jaw is intriguing! Are there any game jerseys available from that league, Storm? How about pictures of the "arena"??
