How or why did you start playing lacrosse? I was a freshman in HS when my friend told me to play because he was. I had no clue what it was and joined a few weeks after prcatice had started, so I had to sit out the first 2 games. I have loved it ever since.

a kid down my street was about 10 years older than i was and was a memeber on the local hs varsity team. all the younger kids on the block (including me) always saw him playin and went to games at the park to see the team play. we all bought sticks from play it again and had pickup games at the park. we had no idea what we were doin but it was still fun. 2 years later i played in a mini camp through the park district. after about 3 years of that i got a lot better and now im playin year round on traveling teams and started on JV as a freshman in hs.

When my family moved to our current house (of which I am desperate need of money to leave) my neighbors were going from St. John's for elementary to Mater Dei to G'town Prep. We played all sorts of sports together but every spring lax took priority and me and the youngest of them became hitting dummies for the older two, so we had to work stick skills on out own.

i started playing in 5th grade. I had a friend who'd been playin since 2nd rade who told me to join. I was also going to be playing little league. He made a bet with me that if I tried both at the same time I'd fall in love with Lacrosse. He won $20, but I won a reat sport.

I have no idea where I first heard about lacrosse. I just remember around 5th grade I thought it sounded really cool and I wanted to play. But, since it wasn't really that available down here I started to play hockey. My freshman year in HS (last year) was the first time I ever had a chance to play, so I started then.

I started playing in 7th grade because I moved from MIchigan to Texas and my mom wanted me to meet some new people. She made me play yet her plan backfired because now lacrosse is all i care about and she hates all my friends on the lacrosse team.

The 2003 Championship Game was the first time I saw Lacrosse. I remember that I wanted to be a Goalie like Tillman Johnson, but then after watching Mark Millon that summer I decided to play Attack. The first year I played I was the only 7th grader to try out for our A team.

I was walking down from track practice and the varsity Lacrosse team was scrimmaging on one of the lower fields near the campus. I wasn't paying much attention until a loose ball rolled to the sidelines near where I was and two seniors who I held in high esteem pounced on it not 10 feet from me.

I was transfixed. This was a game that I could see myself playing. I walked straight on down to the school store and bought the latest Brine PL66 with a wooden shaft

I went to public schools until high school, and in DC lacrosse isn't offered in public schools. So i came to my high school, and my freshman year come springtime i saw the lacrosse team practicing and i thought it was really interesting. So i started this year as a sophomore.

In 3rd grade our town tried to start up a team, and they had 9 guys. They told me they needed 10 so I joined. 5th year now, think it's the greatest sport ever.

I'd seen a couple of games on TV and stuff, but first really got interested in it when I met my girlfriend...she played in high school and was a baller, then played at A&M for a year, so I got interested in it because of her, and now I'm pretty sure I'm more obsessed with lacrosse than she is...

Sadly, I have never played this game I so love. Growing up in Baxley, Georgia, lacrosse was not ever even mentioned as a sport. Today, the sport is growing. Unfortunately, small town Georgia is still left behind. I had hoped to get lacrosse to south GA, but the battle is difficult. Few parents have ever seen a game and money for league starup is just not there. I hope as the sport grows and gets more television exposure, so will the opportunity for youth in rural areas grow.

My older brother played when we lived in New York, and I was really little. Then we moved to North Carolina, and he achieved the single season scoring record for his highschool...he was one of the best in the city. He kept trying to get me to play, and since I sucked at every other sport except Tennis, I said 'what the hell', started playing lacrosse and now I'm so obsessed it's scary.

I heard about it in an afterschool program in 4th grade where we used girls sticks and just threw around for a day because the afterschool teacher wanted to get to football...It was pretty cool for something to do afterschool when waiting for a ride...Then in 8th grade we were playing flag football in gym but our coach let us play tackle i ended up leveling someone and since he was the lacrosse coach he said i should come play d and be an enforcer...I went out that week and didnt know anything about the sport so i bought a short pole...played attack instead and i started playing freshmen year

I saw a game on TV when i was in 4th grade. I needed to do it. But my town doesn't have a team. My neighboring town wouldn't let me play until after we pestered them for three years and started playing in 7th grade. Went straight to the A team and played first line midfield and I now have a ton of friends in my high school and our sister school who are just as obcessed as me

I just didnt like all the other sports. I tried soccer, baseball, basketball(still like to play pick up) and hated all of it. All my friends had started playing so in 5th grade i entered into the rec league. Then i found out the captain of the varsity team lived behind my house so he started teaching me stuff and ive been playing ever since.

When I was about 11, I went to an event at a local park and there was a kid there trying to get people interested in lacrosse. We were playing with cheap, plastic Walmart sticks though, but playing with those cheap, plastic Walmart sticks made me realize I thoroughly enjoyed the sport. So, as soon as the "intense" pick-up game was done. I asked my mom to drive me to Walmart, to pick up one of these cheap, plastic Walmart sticks (for only $7! Amazing...:P). Soon after, I realized that there were actually real sticks out there so I got on Ebay and purchased my first stick. There is really nothing out here in South Dakota, the center of the lacrosse universe, except for a couple college club teams. I have actually been lucky enough to start practicing with the University of South Dakota club team. But someday maybe...
