so i have been playing with an utterly crappy stick from brine (who even cares what the name of the model is...) for my entire lax career (4 years). so its def time for a new stick. i just got back from camp, and the college players and coaches agreed that a new stick would help my skills tremendously more.

so i asked their opinions....... but now im curious about yours. how does the debeer apex and harrow (i believe it was title IX but now that i think about it... my brain is going to goo) sound? I am also interested in the brine surge combined with a harrow (i just loved the feel of the shaft, and from what ive heard, they are very good). after my experience with my last brine stick, im not so sure... but the players i said assured me that the surge was great.

what should i pick? any other combinations out there that sound good? I am a defensive player, either a d-wing or third man, so i don't really believe i need to spend the money for a stick thats wonderful for shooting. help?

Omg, U play for lassiter? I'm trying out for them this upcoming season, i'll be a freshman. Small world...

Anyway, The Apex is an all around good stick and harrows are nice as well. With title nines, though, you have the option of the straight or the tapered. Personally, I like the straight because the tapered one is thinner in one spot and throws me off.

An advanced stick that I am getting in a day or two is the Debeer Impulse, and i'm getting the debeer 803 shaft. This combo is REALLY light and durable, so I really recommend it. Its got low sidewalls for a nice pocket and is better for a skilled player. Do you want a pinched stick?

i wouldnt go with an apex. i'd try a tempest. they are lighter and easier to handle in my opinion. also, i wouldnt go with any head besides a debeer. a harrow is a good choice. either get the title IX with the flex point or the title IX straight. i prefer the straight

brine surge? do u mean brine synergy or stx surge? unless im going crazy i dindt know there were two heads called the surge by two companies?

anyway thats a great combo. but u should definately try out the tempest and impulses before u make a final decision.

yea i agree--the apex is kinda heavy. with the apex on a harrow, it feels soo unbalanced.

but i've seen some people w/that combo and I guess if you like a light shaft w/a heavy head...go for it

what girls heads are the most pinched? ive never thought of pinched heads in the womens aspect of the game. i just always heard it from my guy friends but thats smart. im glad you brought that to my attention. haha. i have a tempest and i guess thats pinched compared to other heads but i just never gave it any thought

About pinched heads, most are pinched, but there are some that are like rounded triangles if you know what i mean. I cant get any pics at the moment. The apex is a wee bit heavy, but the impulse and tempest are real light.

I put my old apex head on a harrow (I've had the head forever) and I love it. I don't know what you mean by "unbalanced". I don't think the Impulse is that great for teh extra bucks, it's a nice head but nothing that's going to really step your skills up from using an apex.

She probably means that the weight is unbalanced. For example, my stick is top heavy because the head weighs more than the shaft.

The Impulse has a better scoop and more of a pocket, that's why I like it more than the Apex.

I think that if you are playing defense, an apex and tapered harrow would be a great combo. A straight harrow is cool too, but tapered helps some people feel like they have a better handle on their stick. (No pun intended)
-I have had the stx surge, Debeer Apex, Debeer Tempest, and the Debeer Impulse. Personally, I would purchase one of these four b/c I think they are the best sticks on the market right now.
-I recommend 2 combos, although it is entirely personal preference.
1) Debeer Apex with tapered harrow (or straight if you prefer)
2) Debeer Impulse with warrior heroine power wave (IT IS AWESOME WITH INTERCEPTIONS, MY FAVORITE SHAFT!!)
-Also, the Debeer Tempest can go nicely with the warrior, although I prefer the Debeer Impulse with it!
I hope that helped-Good luck!!

I agree with Piklz-if you are going for a pole that is not composite, definitely go with the db803!! My friend has it, and I ask to play with it all of the time, it's less pricey and really light!
Haha sorry-my other response was a bit lengthy!

lol, its all good.

They make them with titanium now, so they're real strong but still amazingly light, and it works well with the impulse because its a pretty light head.
