About the whole D3-D1 controversy. They showed clips from a game for about 5 minutes, and they were saying it most likely will go D3, they really dont have much of a choice at the moment, but their fighting.:agree

They'd simply be like another Princeton. No athletic scholarships but they'll still compete at the D1 level. Now just like D3 programs that provide "academic" scholarships and grants, Hopkins could do the same. I would imagine Princeton and other Ivy league schools do the same thing.

My guess is that Hopkins would be damed before they lost lax as a D1 sport. Could anyone see Hopkins moving to D1 in all, and a possible addition to the ivy league?

JHU is academically on par with the ivy's, its quite simmiler to penn in a way, at least the Med campus is. Also another thing people are forgetting is the rivlary with loyola and umd, I doubt any of teams wants those to stop.

Any of these multiple division schools is not going to cut out their D1 programs, or move all their programs to the same level. They simply are going to take away the athletic scholarships and operate in the same way as the Ivy league schools and many d3 schools, by hiding the extra athletic money behind need based and "academic" scholarships and grants.

yah hopkins will stay D1 and just have no scholarships it would destroy D3 to move htem down. It really won't hurt the program too much
