yea thats more than legal...looks like you can fit a ball and a 3rd in there.. the scoop looks legal also...aslong as its 6 1/2 inches across

as long as the scoop is 6.5 inches from sidewall to sidewall- i dnt know why you would want to pinch it like that though

Im no stick expert, but isnt that a little tight of a pinch?? Maybe lessen the amount of pinchage you do... :-/ I mean, that thing doesnt even look.... natural

ummm tight pinch= more hold and accuracy...you want a tight pinch. the scoop doesn;t look that great though dk y you want it.

The throat is definitely legal you shoudl see mine its as close to illegal as ya can get now the scoop on that id say thats only about 6 inches so make sure you get yours to 6.5

Sure, that stick looks legal..... for box lax.

I don't know if your area has different rules regarding sticks, but per NCAA Men's Lacrosse Rule 1-18: Crosse - Dimensions and Appendix I Stick Check. "The head of the crosse at its widest point shall measure between 6 1/2 and 10 inches, inside measurement..." The part that's often overlooked here by players doctoring their heads is "inside measurement". Measure from inside edge to inside edge.

Get out a ruler and measure it. Refs have very little tolerance here, so close will not cut it. Is a 3 minute non-releasable penalty and possible nullified goal (if you just scored) worth having your head pinched by 1/16" too narrow?

It might be OK, I mean you typically don't pinch the scoop any tighter when you bake a stick.

One thing you can do is add some twine to brace the scoop during pinching so it doesn't get any tighter than 6.5"

I still don't understand the point of this width rule.....the throat having to be wider than a ball is totally understandable, but the scoop rule seems almost pointless.....its almost self regulating. If you pinch the scoop too tight, you'll have a hell of a time stringing a legal pocket that throws straight and hard.

Oh, and if you just scored a goal with an illegal stick, you can sometimes jog by one of your teammates and discretely swap.

Use with caution, it depends on how bright the ref is, but I've seen players get away with stuff like this.
