play hard. ive been playing here when its 90 plus humidity with the assistant varsity coach and a FEW (about 3-4, sometimes more). it gets beastly. to keep hydrated i would simply just drink lots and lots of water. this includes the period of time before practice. so drink all day in school if you still have it, or when you are at home sitting on the couch, or doing whatever.

Drink like one fourth or one half liter of water BEFORE you start excersising and you wont get dehydrated. Also, try to drink one fourth liter every 45 minutes while playing.

I just came back from a game today and if anybody else that lives in MD was outside today you know what it waslike. A kid on my team threw up so i would advise not drinking too much water. However i could be completely wrong so if anybody knows any different just say so

Well, you really just sound like a pansy. I tihnk your small size would help. You weigh 90 pounds, you are skinny as hell, you should be able to do that work no problem. I am 6' 190 lbs, and for the better half of our season it's 95-100 degrees.

You really need to gain some weight. How tall are you?

To keep hydrated... like everyone else said, drink A LOT of water.

It's not a genetic disease its called being hot. And it gets down 30 in the winter and 110+ in the summer so stop being a pansy. boohoo you're hot stop complaining. :loser:

Go to the local market and get a Deer Park gallon water jug. It's $2.00. But you basically pay for the jug, not the water. Drink one of those a day.

Leave him alone guys...I'm in Roch right now and he's right, it's gotten pretty hot around here. Just about as hot as it is in Charlotte...now, I've been out practicing with the football team in this temp. in Charlotte, but up here, it never gets this hot so folks aren't used to it. Give him a break...calling people pansies isn't going to make your penis any bigger, or grow you more brain cells.
My advice: drink water ALWAYS. I have water bottles, about ten of them, that I just fill up and toss in the refrigeration, and drink throughout the day. And, tough it out..work as hard as you can, regardless of the heat. The coaches will see how hard you're working and this will help get you a starting spot...
Look at it this way. If worse comes to worse, you'll pass out of heat stroke, they'll load you on to an ambulance and you get to miss a day of practice or two...and drink water!

Dude I actually have a disease I have asthma(sp?). I have an abuterol inhaler as well as advair 350/100(the highest dose they make) and I still play. As for talking about your throat closing up, my lung capacity is only 65% of the average persons. My doctors are suprised Im playing, and Im also not complaining.

thats why you can mix in some gatorade into your water so like fill a water bottle 7/8 of the way full and fill the rest w/ gatorade and you get the electrolytes you need and it will keep you hydrated w/o all that extra sugar

Just make sure you drink during the day before practice and that you drink every break you get at practice. As for the weight gain go to GNC and ask for weight gain supplements. Usually a powder that you mix into a shake. I had a friend in high school that was your size and he drank them during the day and at night before bed he drank a shake and ate two PB$J sandwiches. He gained 25lb's in the summer.

Yeah, while we're all still comparing temperatures here, the coldest it ever was at a game here is the high 50s... and our season starts in February.

Your average low is 40's, which is probabaly night time. You must have had one off month for it to be 25 for the begining of your season. Whatever, I'm not trying to start anything, lets just keep it at we play in different conditions and are not use to some condtions.Fine drink alot. And to help with some of the heat get a cooler with some ice and water in it and put washclothes in it. Take one out put in in your helmet. The cold water drips down and it feels good. As for hydration depending on your bodyweight you need to drink about 32 ounces minimum per hour if you are doing vigourous activity.
