Just yesterday, I was arguing with my friend about where the bulk of us lacrosse fans were watching. So...
What do you spend most of your time watching: The rawness of college lax, the mastery of the MLL, or the intensity of the NLL?

I think with the scoring tamed down a little bit, the MLL is extremely fun to watch. I've been watching their ESPN games this year and I've been very impressed.

I personally love college. It seems the middies do a lot of walking around between restraining lines in the MLL and my NLL team the San Jose Stealth suck...maybe when we get Mike Powell to go along with Boyle...

college ball is what has made lacrosse an explosive growth sport, not the MLL with their gimmicky rules!
4th pole in the MLL now!

Everyone should stop bashing MLL players because they get paid...They don't get paid a lot at all, and they're out there every game, making their own travel accomodations, from different states all over the place...Don't bash them because they get paid...They could just as soon quit lacrosse and make more money doing their other job, which all of them have...They play for the love of the game...Why else would they sacrifice weekends and their regular job's pay for the lower pay of the MLL? Think about it...

Well, first of all...people should not diss the MLL players and say that they only do it for the money...because, truthfully, MLL players probably have to make an equal (or bigger) commitment than College players. MLL players don't get paid enough to live off of...they're spending time of their lives entertaining us and helping the sport grow while they could be working in an office making real money and getting nice stuff.
That said, I still think College Lax is at the top. It's the game the way it's supposed to be played...not with shot clocks or 2 point shots, and with 4 poles. People also support College teams a lot more fiercely. There are rivalries that people live for out there...it's a lot better.
NLL is cool...but, it's a whole different type of lacrosse that I prefer Field over.

While I can't argue that I hate the promoting of Warrior (and apparently ConEr Gill) Its hard to say the pro players do it for the money they make like 50-100 grand a season not millions. I like college more though.

i prefer college because you can support a team on a closer level than a team like the nj pride. instead i can support princeton which is a lot closer.

Really? I heard that they made like 8-10 K a season and that most of them have to work two jobs.
I think it's pretty obvious what I like best.

Well, NLL you gotta see more in person to get the full effect, but I gota go with NCAA, just because Paul Carcetara is only a lil less of a pompous @ss than Quint

college is better, but it is nice that the mll is on tv. i know that in some parts of the country college lax is too but thats not everywhere. ive heard many people say thay they were just flippin through channels and saw a lacrosse game on espn2. they watched it and now they are pretty interested in lax. the tv exposure the mll gets makes up for the lack of teams in comparison to college lax

I totally agree. I love college sports. IN college, it is more of like a team thing, like a team fighting for their school, and they love the game, instead of in the pros, it is more like im gonna score every play so i can make more money. For example, i hate the nba. It is a game of give shaq the ball and watch him plow people over every play. In college, it is more of a tight more intense game, like passing around, and then the open guy will take it in with 8 seconds left, throw it up, and it will drop to be ahead by 2. The other team will inbounds the ball, and shoot from half court, miss, and all the teams fans will scream running onto the court. I just love the intensity of all the close games in college, instead of the blowouts in the pros. So, not for just lacrosse, but for every sport, i like college way better than the pros, even for football, which i know most people would not agree with me.

I love Boxla. Sure college is "pure" and the MLL has its charms, but boxlax is just so exciting to play, and is just action packed from start to finish. Playing pure Canadian boxla is the greatest!

I think they should quit until someone organizes a post-collegiate(pro) field league that someone actually cares about. :WTF:
What is wrong with continuity from the college game? :hot:

I like watching all college sports better than professional. College lacrosse, basketball, and football are all more fun to watch because the players seem to try harder, not give up, and enjoy it more.

College defintely. Especially now its cool to seeing people I used to know on TV lol. When you think about it really college lacrosse players get paid more than MLL players in a way. I know plenty of kids going to Duke, Hopkins, etc. getting rather large scholarships to play lax. Ohh yeah and I second that bring back the 4th pole :crying:

i went to todd eichelbergers camp last year and he said the average players make 1 grand a week and the high profile players make a lot more

professional lacrosse and college lacrosse are on a completely different level from most other sports college and pro. Thats becasue in other sports the pros get paid millions where pro lacrosse most players could make more in a normal job but they play for the love of the game.

college takes the cake by far. And you cant really compare MLL and NLL, theyre completly different. I guess 1st.College 2nd. MLL 3rd. NLL because there is no team in md. I miss the Baltimore Thunder snd Wasington Power :(

i hate the nll, i love both college and the mll. If i had to pick, it would be college, but due to the sell outs of all other professional sports, it seems like a lot of u think the pros do it for money. They actually have to hold down two jobs to make a decent living. you can talk to almost any professional lacrosse player and he will tell u that the mll isnt a living. one of the teachers at my school still plays in the mll and he is NO WHERE NEAR rich by any means whatsoever

IMO, until the pay scale in the Pro leagues of lacrosse rivals other pro sports ALL Lax players are playing for the LOVE of the game. I would venture to guess that more than 80% of the players in the MLL and NLL have "real" jobs and even that percentage could be low.

the NLL is an ok sport to watch on TV, but its true beauty becomes apparent when you actually go to a game. I went to my first Wings game ast year, and the place rocked, it was awesome.
but i still like college better because i have two conteneders in the area. Rutgers and Princeton

college is my favorite for three reasons
1) field is my lover
2) more teams, much more even playing field (although this may change within 5 years) than the MLL
3) its not completely offense dominated. it seems that in the MLL the offensemen wins 97% of all great "battles." again i think that might change once the talent is spead out some more, and you don't have defenses worrying about a powell a gait and a marachek all at the same time.
as long as its lacrosse i like it. If i had to pick i'd say college

for one, i like watching college a lot more than i like watching box. that being said, i think college is the pure form of the sport today (purest being the way the indians played). also i grew up watching college ball, so i tend to like that over the new rules in the mll.

College! I like the rules, no gimmicks, and a 4th long pole! :agree:
The only innovations I care about the MLl is the shot clock, but a two point line, well I could care less if its there or not. :bull:
NLl acn be interesting but not my cup of tea. :beard:
