NY Laxers True?

Ok.....from what i hear, and from some of the whining i hear, New York has prolly the best lacrosse, like high school n below wise. I am from New York, Buffalo specifically, and the competition is really good. I mean our school plays Orchard Park (21st in the country) Amherst, and scrimmage West Gennesse. Do you guys agree we have the best competition or no where u go does bc in inside lacrosse, of 25 best high school teams in the country, Our state New York had the most.

Yea i kinda agree with all of you guys....i think like the New England States like Mass, NY, Maryland, NJ and some of PA are fast advancing in the stick skills n skill level.

ny & md are tied but you must remeber NY is like a 100x biger than Md. and has pretty good lax all around . But Md. Has college NY has Pro. But HS &lower I'd say is tied.

BUt in New York, not everybody knows about lax. Here everybody has played or knows somebody that plays. However NY and MD are definatly the best. But also dont forget Virginia, they have some really nice teams.

SURE not everybody in NY but the hotspots like LI OR Central NY have as much population as the ENTIRE STATE of MD. In fact it's like apples and oranges.

And most of Marylands teams are concentrated in Montgomry County. and DC. All the Catholic schools and Private schools are in that small area. everywhere else in maryland lacrosse isnt nearly as developed

Maryland's state TEAM sport...and this has only been on the books for about 2 years.

The official state sport of Maryland is jousting.

Truth is there is no way to calculate it out...
LI, Balto, Upstate (NY) all lay claims to being the best...
truth is they are all excellent...and better than other areas...
also...other areas are getting better...but still not the same as NY/MD...

I don't know if that was a shot at me...but being from Maryland I was just pointing out we have more than one state sport and that lacrosse has only recently been put into that honor (because jousters have a lot of clout in the state senate apparently).

I say all of the east coast is good...New york has more top 25 teams, But the number 1 team is from maryland. I think it kinda flexes who has the better lax year to year. I dont think consistenly NY is the best, or MD is always the best...it kind of changes, last year NY team was 1st in the rankings, and new york only had one more team ranked in the top 25 then MD soooo it kinda depends on the year i think

That really doesnt mean much consider canada's national sport is lax...but we continually whomp them in field lacrosse

Wouldnt that be nuts though if they scheduled like a giant NY vs MD lax tourney....just to settle the dispute. It would be amazing to watch, so much pride at stake.

where in buffalo are you from?

I think youll realize how good the talent is in new york state when travel outside of buffalo. When i first went to college i defended section 6, but then when i saw some of the talent, and how further developed the teams were, i gave that up.

omfg u play west genn im in florida and my caoch is from cuse so he gets all those games mailed to him from his parent. west genn is a fanomanlal(sp?)team they play with so much finess

ok new england schools really got nothin on NY or MD schools just becuase its new here and most coaches don't know that much about it. i live in New england so its not like i don't know. NY i believe has better players kids there are basically born with sticks in their hands and come on has maryland been to the final four 22 yrs in lacrosse such as a school i like to call "the school were legends are made" aka syracuse nahhhhhhhhhhhh NY is better they've played it longer they got indians who play sooooooo all in all NY kills it maryland is a close second
