That pic is the best but look at them all. These are from 04 but gimme any pointers or critique.

Well I'm attending a camp right now, but my goalie coach told me to get bigger. Normally my stance looks nearly identical to yours, but I'm about 5'4 and an upcoming junior. My coach said that I'm already pretty short so although your knees should be bent, don't bend them too much. You should still be fairly upright. After he showed me what he meant he was 100% right, it actually took me longer to get to the ball with my knees bent the way they were. Now I'm working on making my stance more upright.

So, good stance, but stand a little straighter.

You might want to put your hands closer together. I personally use a forearm's length as my reference. This way, I feel that I can rotate the stick as much as possibleto make saves.

Nice cleats, you might want to put your top hand next to your eye. I find it helps better to save the ball.

I went to alot of camps and they all always told me to have the stick straight so you see "eye, thumb, ball" You want your thumband the ball to be all in the same line of path.

Is that padding under your knees? If it is, I thought goalies weren't allowed to use padding below the knee.

Thanks for the great response. I'll try to find pics from this year because I am taller and play a little different

I'm not concerned with your legs, you look solid, and mobile. I would move your bottom hand closer to your top, and I would raise your top hand. More vertical isn't really that important if you don't have a problem getting to top right.

All that said, where is your weak point? Can you still get low well? Off stick hip? Top center?

my weakest spot is prolly stickside outside bounce shots
I actually enjoy offstick because I really move and when you make a stick save there the ladies love it haha

If i was to compare myself with a well known goalie I would say Jessie Schwartzman or Trevor Tierney in that I really dont step much and basically try to keep every shot between my legs Low. I rely on good positioning on my arc to either make the save or make the shooter take a poor shot

Personally, I am a bit more on my toes than you (might) appear to be, but that's my preference, which helps me attack the ball.
I like that you use a shorter goalie shaft--definitely a good move.
I'd raise the bottom hand a little, but if that works for you, more power, bro.

Notre Dame goalie Joey Kemp (FRESHMAN!) holds the pipe and baits the shooter to put it over his head. Narrow footing but it may be because hes on the pipe.

Another Pic of Bill Schell ( i think it is because he was put into the game after a poor performance by the other goalie) from 2002, very narrow, high on the toes stance

Bucknell Goalie Matt Baran exhibits great position and not leaving his pipe before the ball is released.

Rich D'andrea who plays a similar style to Tillman Johnson with a different stance has his hands very close together and plays very tall

Just curious

I was hoping for new picture...it's not like it's a potentially dead thread
