well what position you play? and if you play box and start playing field most likely you will not be gettin hit as much, unless your really slow...take it and if you think your gettin messed up then wear it....

real men wear the absolute minimum amount of padding possible. if you wear kidney pads, i laugh at you then beat you down.

No matter how manly you are, peeing blood for a month still sucks major.

A real man's smart enough to wear pads when pads are necessary. If you feel better with the pads, wear em.
If a guy like ^^this one^^ "beats you down", just hit him back twice as hard. For best results, hit him in the ribs. He's a real man, he doesn't need pads, so he can obviously take the pain  !
(Now and then, I've watched "real men" like this guy go down like a sack of bricks when they get a relatively minor wack to an unpadded part of their body (arms, ribs).
Want to be a real man? OK, but if you're a teammate and you're not wearing proper rib pads or arm-pads, I better not hear the slightest complaint about pain, and you better not miss one second of your field time with a preventable arm/rib injury.)

Probably the same thing.
I have STX ones. They USED to have straps on them, but i took them off. We call them kidney pads or kidney protectors.

From what i'm guessing, they are probably the same. Just Canadians are weird and call them "kidney pads." Nothing against Canada, though.

^^ They're different. Kidney pads are hard plastic armour and go higher up the back
(Don't forget, the way we play, cross checking someone in the ribs is perfectly legal. You need real protection to avoid peeing and coughing-up blood.)
They might be overkill for field, but they're light enough that if I already had them, I wouldn't bother buying a separate set of rib pads.

I have rib pads incase i strain a rib or get some huge bruise or get messed up like that but i dont wear them on a regular basis. I dont like putting them on because they feel wierd when i'm running and stuff and just annoy me. I never get hit in the ribs anyways
