Ladies and especially you goalies,
need to purchase some goalie pants for the youth goalies on the team. Need your opinion on the brands and designs. Brine or Warrior or STX. Got a recommendation on which would be best.

I would go with warrior, they are they lightest yet protect a good amount too. I think that is what we give the goalies down at the younger level. Plus the pads don't move around like some of the other brands do. But really, at that level, the protection you don't really have to worry about, it's not really fast enough to hurt anything, but the padding keeps the girls from bruising.

I believe Maryland is making them mandatory, along with shingaurds. Not 100% sure, but I'm sure everyone will be forced to follow. Warrior makes good pads, but the STX weren't bad either.

Mandatory? What kind of b/s is that?

In the younger levels the goalies get hit a lot more, in fact it seems like shooters are aiming for them at times. How ever, I'm not a fan of making things mandatory, though I think it is madatory here. It's not like these girls would go out with out their little hsin guards though, I guess that's fine for now.

Warrior. I've seen most girls with those. I think they have two versions, go with whichever.

These are for the youth. At this level the stick skills and reaction time is slower than High School and they get hit a lot more. Want them to have protection. In the past we used ice hockey pants with baseball catchers shin guards. Looking to upgrade the equipment. Appreciate the comments

These are what I reccomend, you don't have to get the 6.0, the black ones work realy well too. The pads don't move and these are really not that restrictive like those hockey ones. Easy to get on and off too lol. I know how those hockey ones can slip.
As for the shins, I would just get normal soccer shin guards. Occaisionally the goalies will get hit in the knees, but they need a little pain :) But if you also want to cover the knees, I've seen som goalies wear the the volleyball knee things. That would be a better alternative IMO instead of those large baseball things.

yeah i'm the same with lilaxgurl23...i wore those pants in black and just wore soccer shin guards...a lot easier to move with than those baseball shin guards and bulky hockey pants

but it is B/s.. because they probly wont make them mandaory for boy's to wear them at the youth level. And honestly a 5th grader isnt gona break their Femur from a shot coming from a fellow 5th grader. Maybe a bruise, but the state shoulnt require them to wear extra padding simply because of a bruise on the thigh or shin, i mean why not make them wear elbow pads.. Knee pads, Wrist guards, pads on the back of the neck, and a pad allong the spine.. i mean, if your gona cover up someones thighs, which are the meatiest parts of the body.. i mean... nothing gona get hurt there.. why not cover up the far more fragile parts, Ankle braces and knee braces should be required, even if your have no injury, just because they are so common..

ya i wore the warrior pad when i had to. when i first started (in 3rd grade) i had to wear the hockey pants and baseball shinguards and they sucked. they completly restricted your movement.
