Yea, no kidding! Jen Adams is AMAZING though, so it's a good win. Such a bummer. Broke the 4 win streak. When you get off to a bad start like they did though, it's hard to come back. 6-1 at the end of the first half? That's tough, ESPECIALLY with a team like Australia. Tough loss, especially since I guess Jes Wilk(goalie) may not be back? Yikes, especially to lose your last World Cup game (altough she's pushing 40, so I guess her time has come). On a high note though, the fact that the Aussie team won, just means lacrosse is getting more popular in places besides the East Coast, and even the US. That's awesome.

Don't forget 2007 for the women. U-19 should be intresting, we'll see if you guys can get over the humbling loss to the US last time around. :)
IMO the US needed younger talent. Girls who had never experienced the World Cup or won it and were hungry and fresh off college seasons. Yes, the experience is nice, but in this case I felt like Australia just had more spark to them. We'll be back in 2009! I did root for Australia, because I knew more on their team than the US team even, but I rooted for the US up until that point (I wasn't at the tie game).
Edit: Anyone have ideas as to who might apply/get the '09 cup head coach position? Kelly Amonte Hiller would have great creds, Liza Shoemaker from BU, and Kirstin Kimel at Duke as well. All built up great programs and Hiller has previous World Cup experience.

i agree completely. i'm not sure what the US was thinking cutting players like amy appelt and katie chrest. come on...fresh off of AMAZING college seasons. sharp skills, great speed, etc. definitely a big mistake.

those are really good ideas for coaches but i am gusseing that kelly is going to play in the 2009 world cup instead of coaching in it
