Ok, John Grant leads the league in points with 31 through 4 games. How many points do you think he'll get this year?

PF, that question begs for a category after 84+. If he's able to continue on the pace he's on already, he will be setting new standards in the NLL. Although, I anticipate Derek Malawsky, Scott Evans, Mat Giles, and Shawn Williams will steal some of his thunder by scoring a bunch of points themselves......so Grant won't be able to be as selfish as past years. Whoops...did I say that???:agree

How did the Powells get dragged into this?:wtf

But oh well, since you brought it up:

Ryan Powell already punked out on the Bandits (real quality guy that Ryan Powell). Personally, neither Casey or Ryan, nor any of their brothers are man enough to play in this league. To me, box lacrosse takes all the aspects of pro lax, and magnifies them. It demands not only skill, but physical presence. Since Casey and Ryan both are pansies, they fail to show that. I know that comment is gonna put me in hot water, but seriously, how can they continuously punk out on the NLL? I mean, if they're so damn great, they should rule both leagues!

yeah, its too bad that Ryan left the Bandits, but that guy for the Bandits(the coach maybe) was way too harsh about it. He said all this crap about making the "wrong decision", and "is putting his lax career in jeopardy. I mean, even though he was never that great in the NLL, he just had a pretty bad knee injury because of it and missed a lot of time at where he excels(MLL). Anyway, Casey is ok in the NLL. And Mike isn't even out of college and you say he isn't tough enough. You can't say that et. This may sound corny, but its the truth.

Look, all 3 got the skills of great lax players. I will never doubt their ability to perform the game at any suggested level. They're all amazing. But from my perspective (being NLL faithful) your career lacks if you don't play the NLL version of the game. I mean, no one doubts the Gaits. While the Powells will someday be as heralded, the Gaits will always have that edge over them, because they excelled in BOTH leagues.

I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time), but to me the Powells approach the NLL like its beneath them. That is a VERY poor attitude.

Hooligan,

Having met and spent some time with both ryan and casey, i am of the opinion that they are great guys and to disparage them as pansies is uncalled for. Ok, so they dont light up a box court like the gaits but they are both incredible players who bring alot to the game.

Ryan's decision to Assist at SU is probably a better career move for him than playing box, a game which is foreign to him. Think about it, he gets to coach his lil bro this season.

You gotta remember that the gaits played boxla while growing up, the powells did not. it was ony through being nursed into field lax that they got so big, while the powells get thrown into the deep end of playing pro, AND being expected to be brilliant.

Food for thought anyways.

I agree a bit with you Hooligan, as you are a much bigger fan of the NLL than MLL. I know you have respect for the Powells. But in the end, I do have to go with cannon.

Well, no one ever said they have to play box, and to be honest, I would probably like them a whole lot more if they never did. But in just the way it hits me, their constant "on again, off again" love affair with the NLL shows some disrespect for the indoor game. I have no problem with them not wanting to play indoor, but when its because they get hit extra hard, and they leave....it bothers me. Now has that been the reason printed on record? No. Is that the real reason they constantly come and go? I don't know.

You have to realize, I post from the hip, and keep my emotions firmly on my sleeve on a message board. I can tend to say controversial stuff, if maybe just to cause discussion.

I think its Casey that has been more of the on again, off again, guy. He seems to have a little bit of an ego. It seems like now that the NLL is getting close to getting really big, that Casey wanted back in. Ryan on the other hand is better at indoor and played for some years with the Bandits, but has had injury problems the last few years. I don't think he is abandoning the Bandits (and I'm pissed at the Bandits organization for what they said) but that he just wants to follow a different carrier path then the NLL. It’s his decision; let him make it without criticism.

Yeah, the Bandits coach or something went really crazy, and really slammed him. I never like that coach, always getting into fights, hes just some bozo.

Darris Kilgour. Thats who you were thinking of Powellfan.

Ah, can't wait to actually finally talk face to face with Darris. I know he's a firey guy, but his lax philosophy and mine clash somewhat. As a reporter, I need to find a way to curb that, or I might ask some questions that could end the interview premateurly. Hmmm.....I wonder if he wants to talk about "Bandit Ball"......

And as for Silcott, he's a very good GM, in a very tough situation. He knows what Casey has done to his team, and to see that continue with Ryan, could have caused the "short fuse" response.

Remember ladies and gentlemen, a GM's job is not all cake and butter. I know for a fact I wouldn't want it.....and if you think you can hack it....there are 10 people who would be willing to trade with you for a day!
