i am thinking about getting a magnum flip grip d pole and cutting it in half to make 2 attack poles. i have heard some people that say this works fine, while others say it doesn't work. i know the db803 d shaft is thicker than the attack shaft, but is that specific to that shaft? basically i just want to know the pros and cons of cutting a d pole in half (i don't really care about hte funky paint job that will come as a result).
i've searched around this board for a while and couldn't find much on this so sorry if this has already been discussed alot.

okay
ill help you out here.
a defense shaft is 60 inches long. might be thinking well attack shafts are 31 inches right?
wrong, yes most a/m shafts are 31 inches long. but warrior cu31,c405,c555 are all 30 inches long!
ya so its totally legal.still get the 40-42 inches. and you can always extend it by filling the end cap

the weighting is different. like a dpole is thicker in weaker spots...so im told

the stick has to be 40 inches, so with a buttend you'll be over 40, i have a f-55 brine attackshaft that was made from a long pole

the entire shaft is thicker than a regular attack length shaft (same shaft).

a regular d-pole is heavier and thicker than an attack (obviously) so if you cut a dpole in half its gonna be heavier than an attack of the same stick...but its worth the little weight when u've got a more durable stick

i will agree with you that a d pole is heavier than a shorty being as its twice as long, but i really dont believe that it is thicker than a short stick, because that makes no sense, so i was just wondering where you got this information.

I dont understand why whould it be more durable
you just basically said that although it is not thicker it is stronger
why would they make the d pole stronger without adding thickness (therefor weight) but not do the same for a/m length
a regular d-pole is heavier and thicker than an attack (obviously)
why is it obvious that it is thicker anyways
based on your thinking shaft makers are not atall concerned with making the best overall product
