Just think about it the fuse, duece, liquid, prophecy, and of course the pulse. Do you think in 5 years there won't be anymore pure plastic heads, and will this be good or bad for lax.

Well, when companies see what works, and what doesn't, they'll continue to manufacture products that work because people will buy them obviously, and will stop making what doesn't work. Here's an example- Have you seen any heads out this year with the "control-x fingers" or other pocket-swinging technology? No, this is because they experimented with something new and it didn't work. This year what we did see was the technology used in the arrow, and got a sneak peek of the technology used in the pulse. My guess is that one (the arrow) will become successful, and one (The pulse) will not, but I don't know because I have yet to play with the Pulse, so I can't be sure about this, it may be the greatest thing since offset technology. Whatever rakes in the money, the companies will keep. It's that simple. Right now it seems regular plastic heads are raking in the money until a truly great innovation comes by, so I don't belive we have to worry. Right now companies are just experimenting with one or two heads per year that have new technology and continue to make the classics. Once a quality innovative head comes out, we will most likely continue to see that technology being used.

Dont bump your thread after 19 minutes.. And we have disscused gimicks up and down..
And d bay, dont double post!

Seeing as to how most of these "gimick" sticks arnt selling very well.. i would assume that plastic will be around for a very long time, unless we find something better to make them out of.
These heads just have a little rubber on them.. or a rubber band for a throat.. you know.. but they still have the same basic parts as every other head, so i wouldnt worry to much about it. They are just adding little itty bitty peices to it.

Don't Freak.... Welcome to TLF!
As said before what sells is what will stay. Each company is taking a different aproach to heads. Stx has their rubber stuff. Brine has edgesque heads. Warrior making newer versions of heads. Gait has just plastic.
But all have also had flop heads. Now that plastic heads have been around so long and they are running out of sidewall designs they are trying new things. Arrow, Pulse Mayhem, and rumor Warrior is putting Ti inside a head.
So someone might hit gold with one of these new heads if not we might see alot more expermentation. And i the end we might just go back to all plastic.

I totally agree with this post. There have been heads that have come and become a total gimmick. But we are still trying to find new ways of making heads/shafts/ and gear. I also agree that maybe one of these new technology's a majority of us think are gimmicks could very well be a breakthrough in lacrosse.
One thing though that i know is not an all plastic head is the new harrow one peice stick, I am pretty sure its all composite probley. Now I could be wrong though.

there will most definately still be plastic heads in production in five years, and GRL is right, every brand name has gimmicks
