In the next 3 years I'm on a quest to become an all american. If anybody is one tell what I need to work on and what my goals should be (Any Cathedral High School players holla atcha boi)

Sometimes its hard being black and playing lacrosse

I'm not an all-american but I know pretty much what you need to do. First going all-state is a must which means you need to work hard enough to stand out and to make it easier play for a winning team (state championships help) As far as going all-american is concerned you pretty much need to stand out as the best player in your state and go to camps and play on premier teams and basically just dominate. Pretty much if your not the best player on your team or even that you really know, going all-american is pretty doubtful but if you have the talent then good for you. But just play a lot and practice even more.

What was said above is true.

You should constantly strive to be the fastest, strongest, most fundamentally sound of every player at all times. Practice whenever you can, hit the wall 2+ hours a day, make sure your diet is GREAT, always be sure to be in good shape, impress your coaches and teammates, be the playmaker, and finally, have class.

it's all pretty much been said. I don't think you'll have a problem with this (because you seem like a good guy), but lke lottaLaX said, you're not gonna end up All American if you act like a jerk or mouth off to your coach or anything. The nicer you are the more chances you'll get to prove yourself. Good luck!!!!

Congrats on winning State. Yeah, it shouldn't be that hard winning it from Indiana if you're really great.

and remember you wont get all american just by impressing your coaches, every other coach you play against has to be impressed. and just another tid bit, our coach said that bids for all american are made in post season play, so make sure during season you give everything you have and dont hold back and then post season give even more.

ya, first off dude start smaller cause u didnt mention that u were all conference or anything(which to me says u wern't, not saying you suck or anything)
anyway, every game you play no matter if you get raped or not you have to try & stand out by doing sweet things....college they talk about the best d players are the ones who don't get noticed & that means they're doing there job...no sweet takeaways but no goals scored on them...high school, you have to be the opposite i learned that the hard way this season....played great D, outta like 20 games i think i was scored on 4 or 5 times???(give or take) probably had like 50 groundballs, the guys who got all conference were the ones setting up fast breaks, getting sweet take aways & ect.....
back on topic, first get all conference which you do by getting noticed by other coaches(which is why its important to do ur best no matter what...coaches are more likely to recognize you to be honest if they rape your team.lol..cause then you stand out)u get all conference, end of season tourneys people will be keeping a special eye on you outta the all conference players you get your all state, then if your on the #1 team in state & yo're one of the better starting players(say top 4 or so) you're almost guaranteed at least an honorable mention in the all american section
