Or so my coach and parents are telling me. My doctor is also saying I dont get enough protein. Anyone got any suggestions? I need breakfast, lunch, and dinner plans. My doctor also said Im getting pale and feeling sick because I dont have enough protein? True or false? Sorry bout' all the questions guys, but I wanna work on my body more this year and most of you guys have already done this, so Im curious as to what you think I should do.

If all you want is more protein your diet, 2 words: whey protein. Buy it, buy some skim milk, and just drink it as often as your coach thinks necessary. A rough estimate (very rough) is about .8 g protein per lb of body weight. I weigh 225 right now so I try to take in about 200 g of protein. Each serving of whey protein in skim milk is about 40 g. So if I drink just two a day, that leaves 120 g, 40 at each meal, which isn't that much really. Figure out how much you need per day, then figure out how many times a day you can ingest protein (snacks, meals, whatever) and just split it up. As a note, you can mix whey protein with anything. You can blend it with fruit, put it in fruit juice, pretty much whatever.

Eat five smaller meals instead of three big ones. And supplement with whey like Longest said, that's good advice. One warning - your digestive system may take a little time to adjust to all of this protein that you're now getting. That's not unusual.

it's called meat... esp fish and beef. eat meat with every meal you have. it's what i've been doin lately to get my muscles a little bigger and it seems to be workin. sorry, im just not into the whole supplements and creatine thing... the only thing i take is amino-min supplements.

Eat lots of beef, chicken boobs or fish. Drink whey protein shakes...IMO OJ w/ vanilla protein tastes the best. Try to get a whey protein that has glutamine in it...it aids in the muscle building and repair process. Also space out the protein intake, i.e. make sure that you eat x grams of protein and wait a few hours before taking in x grams again and continue to repeat the process. The human body can only process so much protein at a given time, what isn’t processed becomes waste. The first article explains some if this in depth, but it is a lengthy read. The second is shorter to read with more of the same.

ya i take whey protein but i take it like once a day and like 2servings at once, so im guessin this is bad after reading this article, i heard it was .36g per pound so about .5, and i am about 160, 80grams of protien a day? that sound right
so ima take this protien 2-3 times a day using about 3/4-1 serving?
please correct me if ya see anythign wrong with this cause i dont wanna do it the wrong way

Another thing is peanut butter. Two tbsp of pb is one serving of protein for the day. "Soy Nut Snacks" are awesome and you can get almost your full day of protein with one small bag. (You can find them in most regular grocery stores and also in healthy stores.)
Protein bars are great and easy. Fish is really good and high in protein.
.8 grams per pound? even if thats rough im getting NOWHERE near what i need... im estimating im only getting around 60g of protein a day... i weigh around 145lbs.. sad.

I shoot for at least 1 gram per pound, It can be tough I have been basically force feeding my self for the last two weeks. and I have managed to put on a solid 2 or 3 lbs, and I dont look any fatter so that is good
obvioulsy whey protein bars and shakes are great before bed and after a workout but if u want to have alot of protein with not alot of carbs or fat and still have a somewhat normal meal then tuna and cottage are 2 great choices.
Next time u are in the supermarket take a look at a can of tuna for the nutritional value, same goes with low fat cottage cheese.

The best way to eat egss are (I make these every morning for breakfast):
5 eggs (adjust to your appetite) scrambled, a little wet
A little bit before you are about to pull them out of the pan, add some cheese, and some ham, and then make 2 or 3 pieces of toast, and put the eggs on the toast and eat it like that, and make sure you drink plenty of milk with it; a lot of people forget that milk has protein, drink a minimum of 4 a day, and you get protein, and calcium to prevent bone injuries and vitamn D, it's a great base for a protein diet.
