Am I screwed?

ok in my state, the driving age is 18. however, half of my class drives at 16 because this law takes place in my year(91) so everyone born in (90) in my class will drive at 16. but i will drive as a fresh in college because i'm like 3 months younger than everyone else (august). so considering most of my firneds will drive as sophmores, am i screwed date-wise cuz i won't be able to drive when all the guys will be able to?

Dawg dont even worry about it. Like honestly, if a girl likes you enough, a car doesnt matter. As much as it helps, dont freak out over not driving.

you think that's bad? growing up in NJ, just before i turned 18 they changed the drinking age to 19, just before i turned 19 they changed the drinking age to 21.

of course in boarding school we could drive across the border to VT where you could still buy beer at 18 .

Yeah that does suck. I got my license at 16 1/2 and have been driving for a year. My brother is pissed because he's only 13...so they'll probably change it to 18 before he turns 16

Yeah, but when you could just walk up and buy it, no fake ID, it'd be nice. If I drank. I hardly even drink soda or caffeine. I'm becoming more healthy, sadly. Life if becoming less fun to live, but more fun when I'm older.

I have my license. I have two cars to drive, one for work and one for home. The work truck will be gone by Thanksgiving at the latest. Sucker. Actually, girls don't seem to care that much about the car. Get a hot bodd. I like saying hot bodd. in my personal opinion I think States need to stop talking about changing the driving age to 18 and start talking about moving the drinking age to 18… Boys will be Boys, Kids will be Kids, they can’t stop us… I just think its sad when 1/3 of my friends have M.I.P.’s before the age of 20… (One friend has 9 M.I.P.’s)... and for all of you kids who are still worried about the driving age I’m sorry but you have no say because if the try to change the age it will happen because parents/politicians don’t care about the driving age because they can already drive

Well not me for one, I think out of my mates the only ones that don't drink, don't drink because they don't like to not because it is illegal, I Don't think anyone i know is looking foward to there 18th b'day just so they can crack open a beer.

Oh yeah and with the dateing thing nobody in my state drives until there 18, and we all still manage to go out so i wouldn't be to worried.

yeah its not that hard if u know people with licenses even tho they will get annoyed (ie me with my friends) but u can still date. i had to drive my bf a lot for a while cuz i got my license like 5 months before him

wow. we can get our license at 16 here. drinking age is 21...isnt that true everywhere? maybe not i guess. noone follows it anyways. ya, the driving thing isnt that big of a deal. a girl is going to date you regardless if you have a car or not.

Digression: but I think we should just do it like Germany. You can drink at 16, but you can't drive until 18. This gives you two years to get that "I'm new to drinking and irresponcible" stage that everyone goes through drinking too much and such without having to worry about the kids drinking and driving. Also, generally, drinking only kills you while driving can cause the deaths of others as well as yourself.
