View Full Version : The biggest hit-relocated from "Open"

All right, for the record, I spent 10 minutes typing up my reply to a thread, and I was devastated when it was closed. The topic was "the biggest hit..." It was closed with a brief message "Read the stickies". I looked at the sticky for that forum (Open), and it said in bold (the only bold one) #5, don't post lacrosse stuff in the open forum. I also checked for bad language, which is also stickied, but there wasn't any. After reading the sticky, I determined that the thread was just in the wrong forum, so I decided to breathe some life back into it. I also searched, but nothing relevant appeared other than the closed thread.
For the record, I read the post by the Mod, researched, and relocated the topic. Here it is. If this is wrong, then just close it like the other.
What is the biggest hit you ever gave or received?
Someone started this in the Open forum, so here it is in the Gen. Men's Forum.

Yeah, I know I'm replying to my own thread, but here is my story...
My team was down in Wilmington for Spring Break. We were playing a local high school team, and I believe we were winning handily at this point. I was playing D, and for some reason the ball had just crossed the mid-line near the X. I saw one of my teammates about 12 yards away ahead of me, with an opponent at about 10 O clock outta my helmet (Imagine a clock in front of you: 12 is dead ahead, 6 is behind.. duh), about 7 yards away. I just go for the man. I get a few steps and I don't even think the kid saw me. I came at about his 2 oclock, maybe 1. I dropped the shoulder and hit him helmet to helmet, with a little shoulder action. My friend told me it was louder than any football hit he had ever heard (he was on the other side of the field playing attack.) I completely leveled the everliving hell out of this kid. No penalty, and I knocked this kid over the midline.
(FYI, I had had an eye infection about a week prior to this trip, and I didn't think I could go. My pink eye cleared up in 2 days due to the steriod-like eye drops I was taking, but I had to wear my glasses because of the pink eye.)
Back to the story, I had stopped to adjust my glasses because my friend had swooped in to grab the ball and go on offense (he was a middie). I didn't see what happened after this, so this is due to account of EVERY other player on my team. While I was fixing my glasses and still reeling a littel from the hit (it didn't feel to good upstairs) this kid had tried to get up, got on his feet, and then fell over, while still being over the midline. His fellow attackman then proceeded to DRAG HIS FRIEND'S BODY BACK ONSIDES! (When I hit this character, I knocked him technically offsides, and there were no middies back for this team, so he was technically offsides). His friend dragged his body back on sides! I couldn't believe it when everybody told me what had happened. I knew everything up until immediately after the hit, then I was fixing my glasses so I couldn't see.
After the hit, the other team's coach was absolutely furious. He ran onto the field, while yelling at the ref that my hit was illegal, to check on his player. I gave the kid a concussion ( :dummy: ), and he got to his feet after about a solid 4-5 minutes on his back. He sat out the rest of the game, and fortunately nothing hapened to me, other than a little headache.
To be hoenst, I was about 6' 140 lbs. This kid was about my size in height, but easily 15+ pounds heavier than me, so it was fair, IMO.
My dad had driven the 3.5-4 hours down to Wilmington that night to watch our game, and of all people to sit next to, he was sitting next to this kid's parents. (He told me that after I got home, 2 nights later).
And that's that. If this is in the correct forum, and I assume it is, post here.

The biggest hit I ever RECEIVED was also this year, and it just so happened to be from my goalie. yes, I do play defense.
We were doing this 3v2 drill, where the goals are pulled in really close. Teams are split up, and first one to 8 in 5 minutes wins. Without explaining the rules, I was about to receive a pass from one of our attackmen. And I kinda jumped JUST A BIT! I was looking at the ball, and I was about 5 yards from the crease. No one was on me, because we hard worked the ball to a 1v1 with the goalie. I was looking at the ball, adn our goalie just came out and blindsided me (ILLEGALLY), helmet to helmet. (If you see that kid's sig with the runner and the girl, pretend I was the girl!) To prove it was helmet to helmet, my goalie had his mouthguard tied around his facemask, and when he hit me, his mouthpiece was on the ground next to me. I absolutely couldn't believe that he hit me. It was blatantly illegal, plus I've been dogs with him since 5th grade. When he hit me, it didn't hurt at all, honestly. He just completely leveled me, plus I could feel my body get thrown to the ground, like when a roller coaster pulls your body through turns and such. When I hit the ground, it felt better to lay there than to actually get up, so I laid myself there. Our trainer was there at our practice, so she had to check me for a consussion and such. Every single player thought it was illegal, and they were pissed that our goalie would essentially cheap-shot me like that. My coach told me after "You got rocked, man!"
In the end, it was a cheap-shot and I was very pissed. I'm still mad when I think about it... :banghead: He always laughs if I bring it up, but I'm still pissed, just because it was blatantly illegal and he could have really hurt me. PLUS, another starting defenseman tore an ankle ligament that very practice, so we could have definitely been in trouble if I had been hurt as well.

ok here's mine, it isnt as good as ghslongpole's first one but i'll give it a shot
ok we are playing our rivals and i'm playing attack. now remember one important thing, i'm the smallest guy on the feild (5'5" 130ish) and a middie is trying to clear the ball so he runs to the left and one attackman hits him and pushes him up field so he starts going up field and gets hit by the other attackmen into my direction so the guy looks up and sees me and thinks he can run right through me like most guys would, so he runs at me and completely level the guy (he was probably 5'8" 150ish) and all i hear as he flies through the air are both benches and the crowd go "oooooooooooooooooooo" and then chearing. so the guy is laying on the ground and so i couldnt help standing over him and staring at him for a minute until my coach yells at me to get the ball. the kid gets up and stubbles off the field and proceeds to get crap from his teamates for gettin decked by a little guy.
same game the guy who was playing defense on me (who was rather chubby)was talking crap the whole game to me because me and his brother almost got in a fight last year so he hates me. so this douchebag is clearing the ball and right as he's passing it i get up under him and push his fat a$$ on the ground. the funny thing was he kinda stumbled for a second before hitting the ground like a tree that had just been cut down. he didnt say anything to me for the rest of the game, i got that ***** in check

worst check i have taken was i was sprinting down the feild looking for someone that was open, and this guy sprinted on the feild and dove and tackled me.. his shoulder went straight into the side of my head, and i went down... I was on the ground for about 10 minutes.. Ended up with pretty serious whip-lash, and i dont remember anything for the next few hours after the game..
Biggest stick check i have taken, a guy slashed me when i was cutting across the crease, and his slash took my helmet off, then his buddy came back and slap checked me in the face, but my mouth guard was still in my mouth, so the second slap check sent my mouth guard into the back of my throat, and i was on the feild for about 5 minutes with out being able to breath, i was floppin around on the feild trying to pull my mouth guard out of the back of my throat, with my gloves on. Everybody thought my spine had snaped and i was dying.. it was bad.... But both of those guys did get penalties.. i mean, slap check to a guy's face when he doesnt have a helmet on.. not good.. I actualy came back on after about a minute on the sideline. They wanted to make sure i wasnt going to die, and i made my coach put me back in.

in summer ball, i was running down for a pass, caught it, and hit a brick wall that was a 6'1" dpole. ill admit it was a good hit and i was pretty shaken but i got up and ran my *** off down the feild and yardsaled him as he tried to score.

this happened just this summer. I was at a tourney playing attack. A middie had the ball about 15-20 yards away so from the crease area I did a V cut.The middie threw the pass, but it was one of those lollipop ones so i had to reach backwards for it. Just as i caught it i try to look at the goal for a shot but as i turn this d man blindsides me. I could feel myself spining in the air. I landed on my butt, facing away from the goal, and sat there for awhile.
forgot one... ok this was at the louiville icebreaker too. There was a ground ball and there were like three guys fighting for it. i was standig outside the scrum waiting for it to pop out. It came out right in front of me inbetween me and a d-man. he swung at it like a golf swing and hit me right in the balls. lucily i had a cup on. the kid just stood there in awe and i took three steps and put my shoulder into him and he was horizontal.

I was playing midi one game, and I was right behind some kid. I raise up my stick for a tomahawk check and come down right on the kid's thumb which was on the stick, perfectly legal, but he still dropped his stick. I broke his finger! I got a 2 minute penalty for being "too vicious".

i was playin during fall ball back in salisbury, md. im about 5'3" so im real short but im aggressive as hell. my teammate threw the ball way over my head while in transition and a longpole came from my side, running in full stride, and his stick went right into my helmet. needless to say i had a concussion and i was out of that game. i almost passed out again driving home.

I'll post 3 of my biggest hits...1 i was playing middie and their offensive mid was running at the top of where the mll 2 point shot would be...(for those who watch mll) and he got my friend with the rocker dodge...(He faked a roll back to shoot left handed then came back and was going for the shot right handed...) Anyway i see him swing back and i take off at him, As he jumps in the air with his stick cranked ready to shoot, i lower my shoulder and just spear him into the ground, my friend who got fooled by the rocker picks up the gb and runs it down for the fastbreak...Long Story short...the kid got the wind knocked out of him soo bad the ref's had to pull his helmet off of him...
for the 2nd i was back at attack, and i ended up just our attack vs their d )because our d guy decided he would just throw the ball as hard as he could to get it out of the defensive end...) anyway im a little above the restraining line and i get the ball...throw a swim dodge to get by 1 defender, then a roll dodge to get by another and end up having the goalie come out to try to hit me...He lowers his shoulder...I split dodge and he levels the defender trying to chase me...easy garbage goal...it was crazy funny though because of what happened lol
3rd and last one i was at attack and we have a little guy on crease attack hes about 5'7" 110 lbs lol he jumps in the air to catch a ball flung over the line by one of our defenders, gets undercut by a huge defender from behind, flips then lands on his stomach... defender got Unnecisary(sp?) roughness for the hit from the back

During a scrimmage (within our team) a kid a year older than me and about 20 pounds heaver and 2-4 inches taller was competing with me for the ball les than 20 feet. I was on Attack he was on D. The coach yell yet him have it and then take him. Reluctantly the kid steps back and lets me run to the cage. He was actually very new to the game (our coach recruited him from the Football team to play D). So He than HEAD ON charges me and decks me so hard I actually went into the cage. It was all slo-mo-ish in my memory. It happend so fast I'm not sure if that's how it was than. I had nightmares about it for a weak. the goalie dived out of the way. It was like a movie. The coach even counted it as a winning goal bc there wasn't enough time to complete the penalty!

well its not really a hit but i hit a kid in the throat with a sidearm shot which it wasnt 100 mph but it was still pretty fast around 50 (it was a while ago and i just started) and he was like 2 fett infront of me it must of hurt really bad he neck was really red i cant remember if he fell or not.
I also decked my really good freind like 4 times in a game and he was pretty pissed at me. he was on D and i was on attack (most of them were illegal but the ref was a college kid and he was a coach at the camp too so he didnt want to "interfer with the game so we really didnt have any penaltys that was alot of fun)

Right off the face off, I was playing wing and the ball was swept toward me. It was one of those slow rakes where both wingers and faceoff guys had a chance to get it. I was first there and dropped my head. The faceoff guy on the other team just drilled my arse and I just remember looking up and seeing the sky. This was opening face off of the game. I remember getting up and jogging to the sub box, where I sat on the bench for a good 5 minutes before my brain stopped rolling around in my head.

forgot this one. my friend was facing off and i was on wing and nobody could get the ball. the kid facing off for us also happend to be on the wreslting team and really good, so they ended up in the right position and he just suplexed the kid (grabbed him and threw him basically).

I was about 5'10" 140 pounds and at a camp with a friend that was probably 6'3" 180 pounds. We were doing a 1v1 faceoff tourney and it was down to him and me. <whistle blows> i beat him with a jump and he just shoves me over (probably a penalty in a game). Well i wasn't giving up yet. He went down for the gb and i jump on his back and hack at the ball from on top of him. All of a sudden he gets up w/ me on top of back and falls back, BODY SLAMING ME. I'm dazed but i still see the ball so i just crawl over on top of it so he can't get it. He's trying to get under me and decides just to fall on me. I'm not budging so he actually starts dry SWIMMING on me ...literally swimming... (like with water). It hurt so unbelievably, both incidents, but somehow i scooped it up and won... or so people tell me :nofear:
