hello all. im a 37 yr old ex lax player. im lookin to just play around with some old team mates and throw around. i have found stx fuse's on ebay for really cheap (20 bucks for complete stick) ive read numerous times in this forum that they really suck. but my question is do they suck bad enough to pick up just to toss the ball around a park? im not looking for competition purposes. thank you for any help you call can give me

I think it will hold up okay just throwing, it breaks in games/practices though because the sidewall is really weak.

they arent that bad for just throwning around for fun. i just now STX heads all break in the same spot(for me atleast). but if your just doin it for kicks i cant see it being a problem.

It's a Proton with some extra rubber junk on it. The rubber will fall off under game use, but should hold up during a game of catch.
I'd say that $20 is a bargain, and it's a good enough stick for you.
I'd also say to keep your eyes open and you might even find a better stick.
STX is dropping the X2, Brine is dropping the Matrix, Gait/DeBeer is dropping the Wizard....remaining ones will show up at liquidators to be unloaded cheap!

josh, great to see more old guys on this forum. todays starter sticks are generally great sticks and can be had for short money. STX AV8 sells at sports authority for less than $30, the Gait entry level stick is also well liked.
its time to strap on the pads again, ive been coaching for a while, but 3 years ago i started playing again (masters 35+), and its a blast, you might want to look into it
i think its a great pickup for 20$ only if your not using it as your game stick
