Yzerman Back for Another Year!!!

Yzerman is back! He signed a 1 year contract with detroit. Im so exited. Hes my favorite player. Cant wait for the season. Starts in october.

Thats great. I dont think that Yzerman is going to be such a factor because of his age, but his leadership will hopefully motivate all of the players on the ice. I think the Wings are going to win 60 games this year.

Yeah man the Wings are still gonna be good but the dynasty days are over. They were sweet while they lasted, and I can still remember in 97 when they swept the Flyers. That was an amazing moment in Detroit sports history. My dad was even at the game in 2002 when they won it all the lucky dog. Crosby should go to a team where he can be a bigger factor, and actually bring the NHL out of the hole they dug themselves.

I dont think yzerman's age will hurt him. He is still one of the top point leaders in the nhl. I think hes 42. Last I read he was 41 but that was awhile back.

i really can't wait until this lock out bs is over hockey is one of my fav sports and its a big dissapointment that the nhl had to go to these lengths. um personally im a san jose shark fan first (there a local team) and maple leafs fan second (mainly cause owen nolan played for both and mats sundin is awsome) yea yzerman is like the red wings poster boy im glad hes still with them he's like the face of the red wings in my opinion (im not meaning this in an offensive way)

Yeah, but most players who were good at one time and then become old or not as hyped get traded or signed away from where they spent their careers to teams that are usually not that good.

They still have their contracts but they have been altered due to the salary caps.
