A lot of highschool coaches encourage over hand shooting. But for me there is a time and place for everything.

Our school plays a big 1.3.2 offensive set. So i like dodging parellel to the goal.

This is the reason I shoot more of a 3/4 overhand shot. I can more effectivley place an offside hip shot that way.

How about you guys? Anyone preffer underhand, or sidearm?

really weird i like shooting side arm from the left of goal. like literally 2 feet in font of the goal but about 7 or 8 meres to the side. its really weird in anopn goal i can hit the inside of the post nearly every time. its just my best shooting angle. Unfortunately it has next to no practical application in a game as the goalie is in the way! its weird

3/4 shot is just what I naturally shoot, and it's where my fastest AND most accurate shot comes from (probably because I practice it the most). I don't think I EVER shoot perfectly overhand, and rarely sidearm, but underhand is a favorite of mine.
3/4 and underhand seem to do the job in every situation for me.

Hey, I play on the Brookfield Varsity team. In the summer, I play on the Joel Barlow/New Fairfield Select team.
Maybe I'll be seeing you in some future games.
What grade are you in?

Underhand wormburner/low to high with a screen. Nasty shot. Goalies hate me.

i usually shoot 3/4, always aim for off-stick side hip or or opposite corner. when cutting to the crease if you get a pass late, behind-the-backs are pretty fun, people get amazed at such a simple shot

i usuall use a 3/4 over hand shot on the run with like the climb the ladder thing at the end with both hands. i can hit bottom corners pretty easy on the run.
on time-and-room shots i usualy shoot side arm

i can vouch for that.

i have a 3/4 shot as well, but that's from years of carrying a long pole up and down the field. overhand will develop the most power and speed, but assuming you can correctly do the shot, each one has its its place.
