He was big and slow...but had a helluva shot...
Maybe his style just wasn't working in the pros...

Conor Ford was more of a complimentary player. He would feed off the Barries, Harrisons, McDermott's, LaSeurs, Peysers, etc...
I really don't think he had what it takes to make it in the MLL. I mean, 100 goals is good, but how many assists did he have?...
Mike Springer has a rocket-shot, too, but he is faster and quicker, and that might be the difference between the two--who knows...

How can we ever know how good Conor Ford is in the pros if he's never given the opportunity? This kid ripped up at JHU. Complimentary? Dan Flannery is a complementary attackman. Dont compare Dan Flannery to Conor Ford. This guy could start when the league expands. I just hope he plays.

I would love to see him rip 2 pointers on guys like tierney and doc ...
I have no idea why hes not playing...he could have taken some time off for personal reasons...
I was just stating...he was big & not so fast...but his shot was very fast

It wasnt you my comment was directed at steg, it was moondog. It says right at the top hes more of a complementary player. And I'm going to have to disagree with him.

I saw Conor at the loyola/Syracuse came earlier in the season. Anybody who can rip a whole in the net (he did it when hopkins played team Japan) is qualified to be in the MLL. Sure he was a complimentary player, but he had a successful career at Hopkins, right? Also, besides playing for the pure love of the game there isn't much incentive to play in the MLL. Bob Benson told me when I went to hopkins camp that you get paid $650 a game...if you play.

Conor Ford was NOT a complementary player. HE was a first team all american. Dan Flannery is a complementary player.

Ford is a GREAT guy.
He was also at Millon Camp from July 24-28. My favorite counselors were him and Kyle Barrie. He was a great coach, and real down to earth guy. Some of the counselors were very stuck up and had a real douchebag swagger to them (ie Scott Smith and even Millon) but Ford was a guy you could talk to after sessions.
Ford played sparingly this and last season (once every 2-3 games), and this year he tore his hamstring, so he's going to sit out the rest of the season and just look for next year. He might also be getting released.
Ford also sold all his crap at Millon. He sold his Hopkins CPX, his new Barrage CPX, and a pair of Barrage Superfreaks for 150 (as in, he packed all 3 for 150 bucks). He also sold his Hopkins G-Forces for 80, and his armpads for 20 each. He sold his old Barrage CPX (the old colors) for 80 too, I think.
Oh yeah, and he is a VERY big guy. I didn't think it was Ford when I met him. He looks like hes 30. Really big guy, sorta overweight.

My point exactly. Like hell if I wanted to tell people that I play a game for a living.
I love lacrosse and all, but there's more to life than a game (even if it's the greatest game ever). Even if I was a Tewaarton(sp?) four years in a row and offered a $500,000 or $1 million contract, I'd refuse it and do what I had in mind when I entered college in the first place.

Yeah scott smith is the biggest tool, Lax101 and I got his friend named bags to as scott smith to sign his @$$ and he drew a penis on Bags' butt check and then all the other councilers made fun of Smith.

Agreed.
Do you realize the intesity of a Division I lacrosse program everyone?
Now match that with the expectations of one of the toughest colleges in the nation?
You want to spend 4 years going through all that just to make the average $13,000 an mll player makes?
4 years of education at one of the top schools just to end up roughing it?
Yeah right....

Ford does wanna play pro. As I said in my previous post, he didnt get a lot of playing time, and he just tore his hamstring, so he's going to just sit out the rest of the season and look for next year.
Scott Smith is a true douche, and I have several reasons why:
1) First day of camp, we're taking attendance, and this kid's name is called out: "Chip Stein". Smith yells out "HEY CHIP, WHAT DOES YOUR DAD DO? HE A PORNSTAR!!!" A counselor shouldn't say that crap when the majority of the camp is 13 year olds and under. The kid, Chip, ended out to be a really good lacrosse player from New Canaan (sp).
2) Me and creaseattack are selling gear outside after we see Conor Ford do it (yeah, stolen idea). Then, Scott Smith comes out with his bag of useless junk, and tells me and creaseattack that we can't sell **** and tries to kick us out. What a turd.
3) His prices were ridiculous. Ford sold his **** for unbelievablely low prices, and Smith's were nearly retail. He offered me a "brand new scandium" (the paint job was faded, and it had tape all over it) for 75 bucks.
4) I tried to be nice to him, since he kept saying how he wanted cash and he'd autograph some of the stuff if people wanted. I told him about how unta got 225 bucks on ebay for his UMD gladiators, so I told him he should ebay his stuff off for good cash too. He says to me "That's great, you're wasting my time, so $*$! off". Ever since I suggested that to him, he kept making cracks at me about "ebay". What an immature tool.
5) Even though he was a goalie, he didnt go with the goalies during positional drills, and was never seen with a goalie stick at camp.
6) Since he was such a douche, I paid my friend 10 bucks for him to go up to him and say "Wow Scott Smith, r u like SUCH a good lacrosse player, can you sign my ***?" Barrie and all the counselors cracked up and forced him to sign it.
