I really liked this movie, I just saw it last night. It wasnt exactly hilarious but I liked it for some reason. What do you guys think of it?

I can sum that movie up in a couple words...The worst movie ever created. I hated it so much, but i sat through it beacuse i thought that it would bring some laughs later on. YEAH RIGHT. That movie was horrible, when i bought it, I was expecting something like Napoleon Dynamite..pssh, Life Aquatic is stupid. PERIOD

Yea, I haven't talked to too many people who liked it. They were just expecting some stupid generic comedy, but I thought it was great.

I saw it when it came out. I really enjoyed it, I thought it was very funny. I thought the movie was one of those werid stupid funnny movies. It was a great movie even though no one really saw it.

I thought the movie was pretty good. The guy who directed that film has a couple key elements which he used in the Life Aquatic, and his other movies. I'm blanking on his name, but if i remember i will edit. It wasn't intended to be hilarious, even though it caused a chuckle here and there. The cast was great I might add, and the directors use of blood was pretty overwhelming (note: when the young zissou dies, he makes the surrounding water thoroughly red)

It was dark. Alot of irony, stuff like that. It was pretty good tho. Kill the damn shark.

You have to be into the type of humor that Wes Anderson creates. If you didn't like this one you probably wouldn't like any of his other films (Bottlerocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums). He tends to go for the smart joke rather than the easy joke (a la Napoleon Dynamite) so it's really common for people to be "wtf am I watching... I havn't chuckled once". Some people don't get/like it... I personally think that Wes Andersen is one of the best and most original directors in the business right now. While some are pumping out pop culture, name droppin movies like Be Cool, he's doing something different and doing it well.

Very well put^^ Anderson's movies are not for everyone, just like (Tim) Burton's movies are not for everyone. Jeez--I even had a girlfriend who didn't like KUBRICK, even after we watched 10 of his films.

Everybody's got a style, and a sense of that style--some people are receptive to them, and some people are not.

Just like how some people think "2001 A Space Odyssey" is cinematic genius, while others cannot sit through 15 minutes of it--make sense?

Speaking as a fan of David Bowie--I really liked the Portugese David Bowie soundtrack. All through the movie-I was anticipating the next Bowie song that dude would play, along with how it would sound in Portugese. I found that rather entertaining.

I thought it was funny, but unfortunately maybe i was getting the jokes wrong as i watched it in Germany in German with no undertitles. I cant wait to watch it here in English.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou in my opinion was in a word Sh*t, i didnt laugh once, and nearly fell asleep during the movie.

I didn't really like it but it's not really my type of movie. I was expecting something differant but it did have some slightly amusing parts. I just thought I would've liked it more than I did.

I think it was supposed to be one of those movies where they purposely kill certain moments, like the song that black guy keeps playing on guitar. I also think it tryed to take not very funny moments and make them awkward, henceforth funny. It was very much another Napoleon Dynamite, but it wasn't as popular, so not as many people liked it.

I saw it the day it came out and the next day, there weren't more than 7 other people in the theater. What MTV can do to popularity is beyond belief.

One thing about the Life Aquatic that's hilarious is the parts where they're showing his documentary. If you've seen any of Jacque Costeau's movies, it's the exact same format. Also, the scene where they steall all the equipment from that tower is awesome.

So, in short, it's a great movie.
