Anybody know anything about the Cocoa Beach Expo facility and participating teams?

The fields are hard packed sand with a little grass on top promote shin splints. The food sucks.

The beach is 30 minutes away which sucks. So, if you plan to stay on the beach, it is a long hike every session to play.

Overall I would say stay away from the Expo.

I don't know where you stayed but when I did Cocoa Beach our hotel was literally right on the beach. Maybe a 1-2 minute walk down to the surf. Food was decent, nothing special. The girls played at different fields so I don't know what the playing surfaces are like. When I was there Albany Academy for Boys, Gonzaga (I think that was it), and some other boys schools were there.

There are girls there too, if that helps you at all.

Oh. Well we had vans to drive us back in forth. In the morning we run to/from the fields but that's it.

I have also been to WWS.

The fields are amazing. A little hard but they are in great condition with very very few dirt patches.

The place the teams stay is a little cheesy with all the super sized sports stuff posted on hotel buildings.

EXPENSIVE. At least the food. Expect a normal meal to be $2-5 more than a meal you would buy anymore else. Because well Disney owns everything around the place.

How was the competition?

Competition is very good. The High School division had fewer Marguee teams this year, but, teams are from all over (including Northeast) and the event has a nice jamboree type feel. Colleges play as well, at least on the womens side they are. You get a chance to see, perhaps, Div 1,2, and 3 lacrosse. Disney runs it so it is well produced. Lots of trainers, water, field space, lights, seating, etc.

Yeah the Pilats Florida camp is definately good for goalies. I went to it and the summer one and there are soo many people at the summer one but alot less in the winter one. and its right before the season starts so it gets you ready.
