So what in your opinion is "perfect lacrosse weather?"

I have heard this term used quite a bit and I was wondering what everyone thinks.

i think i like it overcast, but not raining, maybe just a little ya know, cause the heat kills almost just as bad as the pouring snow- wuddoo u think

for me it's something like maybe 65-70, with a slight breeze, and not to sunny

Mine is about 60, no humidity, and a cloud cover so theres no sun in your eyes or anything

Now, sorry if this is off topic but perfect football weather is about 70, POURING, and cloudy of course

i dont know about you guys but my perfect weather is pouring rain. sure it screws up your stick but you cant get any more fun than playing on a grass feild in the rain. and if you disagree, body check someone in the open feild and see what happens to him

I said 60-70 because when you sweat it feels like a perfect temperature. If not that, than I'd say pouring, and I mean POURING, rain. Rain is fun only when it's pouring because at that point you just don't care and it just becomes more fun. I hate when it just drizzles though, that's just a pain and a hastle.

Yeah drizzles not very good, but theres nothing i like more than a blowout game in the rain, everyones drenched, no one cares, and its a lot of fun.

I agree. Maybe even 80 with a nice breeze. However, nothing beats playing lacrosse in heavy snowfall.

Pouring rain.It gets so fun when you play in the poring rain because its muddy and everything is wet so it feels great.and in a while no one really cares anymore they just play for fun and all get soaked.and alot of the time my goalie gets lucky too because the other team shoots it at the ground and there is a huge mudpuddle in front of the cage so the ball just stops completely and the goalie can pick it up

i think the perfect weather is 60 degrees cloudy and a nice breeze.

70-80 for summer ball

60-70 for fall and spring ball.

little cloudy's nice.

rain isn't good because how often does it get to the point where it' pooring and everyone's bodychecking and making mashpits why like three people actually continue playing? I'm usually the kids whose dodges suck but now that everyones in a mash pit slam dunks like 7 in on the goalie.

but when you say rain. How often does it REALLY pour like that w/o a team making an excuse? when you say rain it's more likely crappy spring showers.

BTW, with my mesh if you apply conditioner after it's been in mud and rain it expands and softens up as ood as new.

i'm kinda weird because my 2 favorite conditions to play in are pouring rain and sweltering heat. i played a game in east san diego where it was 105 degrees on the field at game time (5:00 pm) IN THE MIDDLE OF MARCH. and i dunno why but it was fun, i think the heat just raises my intensity level. but if i'm just playing around or practicing i like 73 and sunny with a nice brees

Low 60s, sunny, and with a slight breeze. There's a park around here (Sylvan Lake for all you CFL laxers) and playing games there in January/February is soooo nice. It has trees all around the field, so it has the perfect amount of shade and the fields are really maintained (sp?) well.

60-70 Degrees with a slight breeze. The cooler temperature keeps you nice and comfortable.

Rain is definately the best. You stay cool and get the added bonus of being able to throw people into the mud.

LymanLax28

I don't understand how you guys think rain is good lacrosse weather. I hate it. It messes up your mesh and makes you adjust your thowing and the ground gets soggy so its harder to plant your foot. The only thing I like about it is taking bounce shots, because they can get really unpredictable for the goalie.

every coach i've had is in love with the snow and cold. To older lacrosse players, who grew up north, the cold is the best time to play for some reason. I say what krypto said.

I like it when its 65-70 in the spring right after its been cold all winter and youve had all of those practices in the freezing weather. When it finally gets up to 65-70 it feels perfect.

i think vail was the best conditions i have ever played in this year. i go up to vail about once a month tho, cause i only live about an hour and half south of the rockies, but i have always heard great things about the weather up there for the tourney, so finally this year, my team got into it, and it is the best i played in out of 7 years of playing

I really like it when it is around 70-75 and humid. That's right, I like the humidity. Maybe its because I sweat so much out here in the DRY west. I actually sweat less in the humidity.

I also like playing at night under the lights, where its about 60-65.

60-70, cloudy/fog.

I don't like 80+ weather, and 40 or below is a tad cold for lax. 50-70 is perfect weather, provided it's not humid as hell.
